If I heard this correctly, players who bought runes in earlier days, get less back than players who recently bought runes??? I am not sure if that makes sense, and I just wanted to have someone clarify it.

Runes cost ( minimum ) 210.

So your telling me if I piad 210 ip and above for runes, I get 100 essences? but if someone recently paid the same price, they get there full blue essences back????

that doesn't seem fair :/

You only got full refund from the start of the season to today.

And that seems wrong, why should people who recently spent ip receive more back than people who spent ip all along?

Because those of us that bought it years ago have gotten more use out of it..

Its like that with anything, think of a car. If you never leave the dealership you'll probably get a full refund, but if you've been using the car for a few years, the value would deppreciate.

That comparison doesn't work here I'm afraid. rune pages are not cars, they don't expire, they are permanent systems, and yes you should get 100% refunded for it. let me break down my reasons why.

2 Players have 15,000 ip. 1 player buys 2champs, the other player buys 10 runes.... ok now here me out..

If riot then decides to remove any one of those things from the game, the player who made a different decision will be s*** out of luck.

But image that instead of that, riot gave a trail period for both systems, for 3000 ip more, you can either rent a champion for 7 days, or rent runes for 7days.

If riot decides to refund 100% of the cost to the person who rented the system, and only 30% of the cost to the person who spent full money on the system .... don't you think that is a bit f-ed up? Its essentially like saying ( using your car annology ).

"Hey you know that $30,000 car you spent your life savings on? well turns out there was a manufacturing issue and we gonna have to recall it, but since you already used it, were gonna have to pay you back $5,000 instead. But you know that other guy... the one that rented it for $12,000 instead... well even though he drove it way more than you did, he gets full refund because it was just rented. sorry just business friend"

Now if a manufacture actually did this, you could actually sue them unfair business practices. But riot is not a care company, they don't actually loose money for this ( as far as I am aware ), so it doesn't seem to be any reason why longer vetertan players get less than players who only recently started buying runes.. Getting less for using something more doesn't make sense. Your not selling runes, it is being taken away from you. And while riot has full rights to do so, why would compensation change based on when you used it??? that part doesn't make any sense

No, since you were able to use those runes that you bought 5 years ago for the last 5 years, you shouldnt be refunded for it. Thats like buying a membership to an MMO, then when it goes free to play, asking for a full refund.

That's not unreasonable, and that's why so many people quit mmo's when they do that. And for the last time, what benefit?? what benefit did we get that NO ONE else got?

you toss the word benefit around a lot but what does it actually mean? it is not considered a benefit if everyone else gets the exact same thing. You spent money on champions, I spent money on runes. now everyone gets runes for free, but I don't get champs for free? what fcking logic is that? how on gods earth is that a benefit, it seems to me I would of been better off not spending money on runes at all. Why do people have such a hard time understanding that, players who spent money on runes didn't get a fcking benefit, we spent the same IP you spent, just on different stuff. There was no benefit, it was 100% Equal, you cant call that a benefit.

If I got runes for free and you didn't, that is a benefit, but no that didn't happen. WE had different game play choices, but one side is clearly being misrepresented here. And this wasn't even the point of my main post. I'm just angry that people keep saying "you got a benefit" Like what fcking benefit did we get?? did we get special unicorns that we could ride on? did we get a free lucky charms in the mail??? no the runes were just as bad, but other players choosed to spend ip on other gameplay releated things, like champions, or ( here is a good one ) hextech crafting, getting level 7 on chamions, we decided to put money on runes and overpriced pages. But riot decides to go 100% reverse on that system ( again its cool, its there choice I'm not salty ) but what benefit did we realllly? get that no one else had? please explain that too me

benefit: the object at hand (runes) provided a service to you.

Example: You buy a critical strike rune. You put the crit rune into a page, and the next game, you crit an enemy at level 1. This is how you benefit from the runes..

You could set up the mastery page, and use the rune to improve your game.

I bought all my champs and runes and rune pages with Ip.and I dont feel cheated at all. You sound like you bought everything with money, and are upset with people that getting a refund for playing the game free to play.

Another benefit you recieved from spending money to unlock stuff, is having it immediately. I took 6 years to get champs rune pages, and a decent amount of runes using IP... You benefitted plenty, and to be honest, riot doesnt HAVE to give us anything since we've benefitted from the runes and rune pages over the last few years. So lets take the fair refund that they're offering us and go into the new system with a positive attitude.
