Sion buff

Sion has the reputation of being one of the most balanced champs in the game due do not dealing insane damage for a tank and everything in his kit having counter play (a bit too much imo). However right now, for a champ that's suppose to be menacing as a character and a lane bully, well hes not doing much of that. On the pbe for the next patch his W is getting a slight damage buff which it needed since last season but, his Q needs a little tweak. The majority of the top lane roster such as Aatrox Akali Ekko Darius Camille Fiora Fizz Garen Gnar Gragas Irelia Jax Kled Kennen Nautilus Riven Rumble QuinnRenekton Pantheon Shen Tryndamere Vladimir Yasuo

are easily able to either juke around or cancel his Q altogether while your standing there like a moron and proceeding to be out traded while your main damage ability is just gone, by the time its back up the trade is over and half your hp is gone while your lane opponent is spam laughing at you.

The tweak that I would suggest is to either make his Q slightly longer and or wider (600 units to 650 or 700 units) or slightly less time to full charge/getting the initial knock up (0.25-.5 sec decrease)

They need to give sion CC immunity during his Q charge up. We can take baby steps and only apply the cc immunity after one sec of charging

I like your idea

i dont think changing the size of the q would be very nice but having the rate where he charges up would feel more clean imo

His Q is really not the problem, his laning phase is fine. The problems start post laning phase, his E has a really low range due to often there not being minions (very unreliable). His W is unreliable in teamfights. His R is easily dodgeable if you can't land an E. And to land an E you have to be in a very close range and tank a lot of spells.

The problem with Sion is his post laning phase, not his Q. His Q is fine and cancelling it before it gets off deals a large amount of damage still. Sion can actually deal a very high amount of damage, but you often don't see it happening after laning phase due to E being very unreliable, W being unreliable and R hard to land. A second set of issues arise when you consider the fact that he scales mostly from AD, but there are no real items to actually scale well with the way Sion plays (Sion doesn't do a lot of Auto attacks so items like black cleaver and hydra are not as good on him as on others).

If E would be a point click on a champion (and it kind of travels like malphite Q) he would actually be fairly strong. But at the moment he is just a bit gimped in his kit. Also if Riot wants to buff W they need to lower the amount of time before you can recast it from 3 seconds back to 2 seconds. This was a really big nerf in his consistency both early game and in teamfights. Because I never really get a single W off in a teamfight with Sion unless I precharge it before I R into a fight and hopefully then get it off.

I feel like there isn't much of a difference between winning or losing lane as Sion. As long as it isn't incredibly severe you normally come out of lane feeling about the same.

His team fighting just doesn't seem dependable enough. It's very dependent on his ult which while cool is pretty easy to avoid. He is also very easy to kite. Most meta champs in all positions are ranged or more mobile.

I agree that his E needs to be more beneficial outside of lane phase.

I could be wrong but I doubt the W buff will change anything. It will still be maxed no earlier than 2nd after E if at all. And people will still break it before damage applies at early ranks so I don't see it chaging his lane phase much.

And you will oom if you use it for early waveclear at least until 2 or 3 Dorans rings are purchased.

But we'll see. It definitely can't hurt him.
