In depth tutorial on how to play the new Cassio

Agidyne··8 votes·1,537 views

Step 1: try to poison someone

Step 2: Mash your E like your life depended on it

Step 3: Build Avarice Blade and Frost Queens Claim. Trust me, you won't notice a difference between having those items or a Deathcap since your damage is meaningless before 400 stacks, you seriously won't. So you might aswell get the gold instead.

Legit, I got from Bronze I to Plat V with this guide and I hope it helps you too.

Cassiopeia from lane bully to handbag in one patch.

I can imagine the change going down.. "Cassiopeia is a unique champion with a high skillcap and easy counterplay, yet still rewards high skill play."

"By god, its the world record! He did it!"

Exclaimed the Guinness world record representative, Riot Stashu was going for the world record for "Longest bong hit"

and at that moment, stashu said "woah dude, what if we like, yo hear me out, listen listen.. what if we took everything that makes cassiopeia great and like... throw it away?"

And that is how the cass rework became reality, god bless america.

Logged in to upote :) But seriously, her new passive is so boring, you either go aggressive and sometimes get stacks, or you play so passively you become a minion poisoner/E masher. Enemy engages? That's a nope, ult and run. Recall and get stuff. Go to lane, ooh yay you got 200 stacks at 25 min. Just 200 more to go.....

I think she's passable at 200 stacks but you're dead accurate before that. Engaging is impossible before 200 stacks, pretty much anyone can shrug off an all-in and kill you in a dual ... and people have figured it out so basically the first 20 minutes devolve into practicing your e-spam on mininos so they don't get destroyed by the tower and you get some stacks.

This simply isn't true. She's only weak until she gets Tear/Catalyst. Once she has a mana pool to spam her Twin Fangs she's very powerful in duels and skirmishes. You can complain that she's boring or that her gameplay is lacking, but it's completely false to say that people can shrug off her all-in and beat you in duels (once you have tear / catalyst). She literally does more single target damage than old Cassio did at every point in the game as long as you space well against the enemy.

Riot has already admitted she's "undertuned" on live so you can say it isn't true but even the devs agree here. No point in debating it.

She's undertuned, sure, but she's not nearly as bad as people are making her out to be.

ive played cassio a few times since her rework and personally i think all she needs is a little QoL buff on how she can stack (ie, multiple poisoned champs = more stacks). Yes it is difficult to reach 400 stacks, but as of now its actually fairly balanced. I got 400 stacks at around 30-35 minutes in before. And once i hit 400 stacks i usually have 700-900 AP. I like her more than nasus and veigar right now

The stacking mechanism is a horrid idea, period. It should be left on items and single abilities (Tear, Veigar's Q, etc.) I won't get into the Change Game with her abilities, but there are much better ways they could have gone about reworking her, than turning her into a pot roast: Simmer for 6 hours, then you're ready to roll.

I already wrote Cass's strategy into a powershell command to keep things simple:

function ComplicatedDamageScript { If($Target.poisoned -eq $True) {return "E"} Else {return "Q"} }

Now bind that to a random key on your keyboard .... heck to your entire keyboard ... and slap it repeatedly ... you have now mastered the new champion damage mechanics. If you don't want to use this script you can do it manually, that's what Riot apparently refers to as a meaningful choice now.

Holy crap I can't believe I didn't think of Avarice Blade before. Thanks OP!

But the lead-up items to Frost Queen's Claim turn off if you CS, which you will want to do with Avarice Blade...
