Focus more on not losing your lane, rather than winning it.
If you focus moreso on farming and not dying, rather than trying to overpower your lane opponent, you will have more consistent games. If you fall behind, build defensively and farm. Miss CS if you have to, to avoid harass.
Go in if you can see the jungler, and your enemy wastes a spell or misses a skillshot, otherwise focus on farming cs while staving off your enemy. If you get the opportunity, roam and help a winning or even lane.
