PSA: Don't call champions like Yasuo broken.

He's unfun to play against is the correct term, numberswise, the champion is balanced, and his kit isn't broken as it seems. There are three terms to define a champion.

Unfun to play against Broken Overpowered

These three terms are what you use to define a champion. It's as simple as that. Broken doesn't necessarily mean overpowered, but it has the connotation of it. The true meaning of Broken means that the champion's kit doesn't fit right, or something is just so strong, and something else is weak. The kit of the champion itself.

Overpowered means the champion is plain out too strong.

Unfun means just unfun to play against. Feels unfair, etc etc.

So,why do people say, "___ is so broken, gj riot balancing." 9/10 times, the champion is NOT overpowered or broken, and just feels unfair.

So please, if you're going to make a rant thread, do it right.

I'll put it like this.

Broken is when the fundamental parts of a champion's kit aren't balanceable, without removing them. Overpowered is when a champion's numbers are too high, without being broken.

For example, Jax was broken, when he could helicopter dick fountain tower, while pentakilling your team. You can't balance that with just number tweaks.

Does it really matter..? Yasuo is broken because he has more utility than champs that are supposed to have utility. Windwall + constant knock up is a lot for a champ that can 100-0 a squishy in sheer seconds

-Increased crit chance -Wind wall that blocks every projectile including ultis -Knock up every 10 seconds with high range that can crit -Infinite dashes to kite like hell -Passive Armor pen in his ulti that can hit 5 people at once -A shield that makes poking a waste of time unless you're planning on going hard -No mana meaning go wild with your no cooldown abilities. -Glues together a lot of team comps with knockups (overcentralizing)

Yea there's an actual issue, you forgot the fourth option: all of the above. Yes he takes skill the play but we're not ignoring nidalee or zed due to skillcap.

I actually find him rather fun to play against. But then, I like to play tanks.

As a Yasuo main I hafta say - Yasuo is broken but what-with him being so hard-to-play, it's perfectly fine! =D

Jokes aside, all the hard-to-play champs are "broken", but since their difficulties and various fundamentals of their kits balance them out, they're simply overpowered.

When Yas first got released, he was def broken. But they fixed his E. And with the last nerf he's actaully properly balanced. (Unless you got them runes early game)

But Yas is possibly the most difficult champ to play at the moment, not because his mechanics and fundamentals are difficult to grasp and use, but the out-right hatred for Yasuo in the community is ridiculous, he's focussed in team fights and in games in general too much. I get 4-man and 5-man ganked in the first 10 minutes of games regularly. It's quite irritating. High ELOs are an exception though, the peeps that actually know shit about the game don't do that bullcrap.

That's exactly what Yasuo is. He is perfectly balanced in general, but because of broken kit elements, that is ult and windwall, his power rises immensely when he is paired with certain champions like Malphite and Janna, and when he plays against projectile-heavy team. Now, heaving synergies with certain champions and countering others is fine, but if picks are right Yasuo reaches power levels that should not be available to any champion. His ult and windwall aren't really balanceable.
