What is Lux's current state?

Is Lux weak or strong? I play her a decent amount and I feel like she's underwhelming compared to Xerath and Orianna. My opinion is probably bias though because I don't play the other 2 as much as I play Lux. I'd be interested to know people's opinions here and why I should keep playing her.

I'd say par-at-best, simply because Xerath and Orianna, as you said, make her feel underwhelming. Part of the problem is that she has a small damage bug; triggering Illumination with her ultimate doesn't include Illumination's AP ratio in the damage.

The other thing is that she has really bad mana issues early-to-mid game because her E costs 130 mana at level 5, which is brutal.

Lastly, and this one is QoL, she cannot "pre-detonate" her E like Gragas can for his Q. As in, she can't activate it again right before it reaches its destination in order to make it detonate on arrival; she has to wait an awkward 0.1-0.2 seconds before she's allowed to detonate her E. FRUSTRATING AS ALL HELL.

She definitely could use a little TLC.

ARAM god. That's about it. Champions with 50x the mobility she has have about 2x the burst she has with their damage output being more reliable.

Two words:

Mana. Costs.

She falls under 100% LCS viable, but won't be picked.

Lux is pretty strong and can dish out spells relatively fast. She also has utility spells over Xerath, she can illuminate bushes, and she can shield herself and allies. But don't take my word for it, or anyone else's word for it. If you have her, try her out in a game. If you don't and you're curious, wait until she's on free week. It doesn't matter if she's hot shit in LCS or has a top ban rate. What matters is if YOU can make her work, regardless of what people think of her.
