Captain Fortune @RiotKateyKhaos

With Captain Fortune most likely being available with Act 3 (really cool love it.) it got me wondering why Captain Fortune is 975 with no particles? I understand on the Guide to Skin Price Tiers it says "Sometimes includes: new animations, visual effects, and sounds where appropriate for the skin's theme." But that's mostly for champions that are really particle light like Xin and his Secret Agent skin. When asked about this a Rioter said that it looks good with the base so we decided to keep it like that since it suits the skins theme.

So it's similar to if I buy a diamond ring but the seller says the pearl looks good enough and charges me the same price? Not to mention if this was 2012 or 2013 Captain Fortune would have been her base and we would of got a Traditional skin for her. I really doubt this started off as a skin concept with Waterloo existing being really similar and them keeping her base the same.

If you're really wanting this to be a skin then take her recall, add it to all her skins except Arcade and then you'd have a nice 750 RP skin that I don't feel scammed and cheated purchasing. It's a really nice skin but I just feel cheated buying it and I know I shouldn't saying this as this is a free game and MF got updates all over her skins but seems greedy to me.

Hey Krawia,

I may be the Rioter you're referring to, as I've said something similar regarding the particles for this particular skin.

To clarify here, Captain Fortune was never meant to be an update to the base by any means, and started as a skin for her that fit in with the Bilgewater event.

Since the Miss Fortune update was minor (minor visual updates and gameplay tweaks), she wasn't receiving a new recall animation. We felt that giving Captain Fortune a recall animation was a good opportunity here because, as it currently stood, only her Arcade Skin had one.

As for her particles, we felt that her updated particles worked well with the thematic of the Captain Fortune skin.

We don't have plans to change the updated base Miss Fortune, or Captain Fortune further at this time.

It's possible to change particle colors via the LoL Skin Installer. I have a few examples here: http://existentialportfolio.tumblr.com/
