Thats the issue. When you have support as your secondary or fill you are almost guaranteed the support role. Support isn't the most appealing role so if you have that big of an issue getting I do advise changing your secondary to something else. If you don't you will keep this 'issue' until the support role becomes more popular which isn't likely to happen soon.

well, top is not that much different from mid if you play ap top and also... you can always offer to swap to support, queueing mid/jungle and offering to swap jungle to support you will get mid way more often than queueing mid/support
i personally can jungle better than top so i queue mid/jungle
