Why is CertainlyT employed?

Seriously... anybody else that bad at their job would have been fired months ago. Every character he has introduced into the game has been AIDs. Slowly killing the game. His rework of cait is probably gonna be the stupidest shit yet, and thats pretty hard to do looking at his shit over the top champion designs to date. Certainly, pls read this. You suck at designing champions, none of them are remotely balanced. Are they fun to play though? No. They are boring to play bc they are overpowered. They are even worse to play against, bc they leave every match feeling like shit. CertainlyT's champion designs are just about as toxic as the horrible remakes done to all the juggernauts which made them insufferable true damage dealing tanks.

Because he still designs Unique champions. Yes they are overpowered. but as you said he's a designer. not a balancer. Also on the Juggernauts. Check your shit before complaining, the reason why they were so broken on release is because Riot buffed them because the PBE Players kept asking and saying that the reworks were shit and that they were massively underpowered

The only expection with Juggernauts is Mordekaiser. Idk what happend with that rework.

Anyway. Zyra, Yasuo and Thresh are still awesome champions. Sure you need to be careful when against Thresh but still. I think they are designed greatly. just not balanced greatly

CertainlyT is the Matt Ward of League of legends.

Yes, his champions ARE horrendously overpowered because he never knows when to stop adding stuff onto them. I mean, why does Yasuo get double crit strike to go with his free-charging, auto-deploying passive shield, other than "because he's a samurai"? Why does Thresh get charging bonus damage on his autoattacks from his Death Sentence and why does Dark Passage (my personal pick for THE most overpowered ability in the ENTIRE GAME) also give an AoE shield other "because it'd be cool"? What Rob Liefield is to pouches, CertainlyT is to champion design- a hyperactive, overenthusiastic man-child hopped-up on red cordial who never steps back and thinks "maybe I should tone it back a little here?" and thinks "restraint" is for queers. He designs every champion like it has to be the strongest in the game to be any good, making them balance nightmares for the actual balance team. The fact that his name stands for "Certainly True Damage" really should tell you everything you need to know.

That said, OP's post is needlessly abusive and terribly hyperbolic. CertainlyT is still employed by Riot (even though I agree he probably shouldn't be if he's not going to rein himself in) because the champions he designs are INTERESTING. And they ARE usually fun to play, for the player playing them at least (albeit never for anyone playing against them). Some of them HAVE finally been brought to the level of "balanced"... well OK, none of his champs at all are balanced (Darius, Thresh, Kalista and Yasuo are still arguably OP or at least toxic in their play patterns, while Zyra has been so overnerfed that she might as well not exist) but at least they're not still in the same "100% pick or ban or auto-lose" state they were on release.

On the other hand, his work on the Mordekaiser rework was so retarded that I'm surprised he wasn't laughed out of the office when he proposed it. His heart was in the right place (designing a melee champion intended to be played in the botlane in place of the traditional AD carry was a good idea), but his execution was utterly clueless (why would you make that champion MORDEKAISER rather than designing a new champ from scratch to fill that role?!) and it only "works" because it's horrendously overpowered on a strictly numeric basis (if it wasn't, Morde'd be useless)- that stupid "1-shot anything with the 3rd hit of your Q" thing is utterly ridiculous, and while the Dragon ghost is a cute idea, it's the kind of stupid daydream concept that really shouldn't have been allowed past the "heh, wouldn't that be neat?" stage.

He DESIGNS champions extremely well. He is however fucking HORRID at balancing champions.

Fearless is even worse at his job and less competent than CertainlyT, yet he hasn't been fired. Rito doesn't believe in punishing employees for mistakes, even if you make massive back-to-back failures like the patch 4.13 Sona gutting, followed by the pre-season 5 jungle gutting.

I wonder who is more toxic,CertainlyT champions or Bronze 5 promos?

Yeah, and this is constructive criticism displayed in a correct manner according to the rules you said you would obey when you started this game. If you are as toxic in game as you are in this thread, I do hope you get banned often. Otherwise I agree with Actually xPeke, he's a designer, not a balancer. And he does his job extremely well.
I look forward to the Cait rework, right now she's just "Marksman X, with a little bit more range than the others."

Lol If you think one guy is responsible for a design of a champion

Axests10/26/2015, 8:09:12 PM1 votes

design team does not equal balance team, the imbalance of his champions isn't on him. The champions he designs are also unique and fun to play, so i'd say he's doing his job
