She literally instakills me from 80% health (after tower diving me a few times, without taking any damage of course) under tower as volibear with 1 kill, with literally no counterplay as she has instant cc. If she's actually balanced at least say HOW she's balanced. and HOW THE FUCK YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PLAY AGAINST HER

Then you attack when she does. Voli's bite is much more stronger in early stages of the game (cheesy like Renekton). And you have more health than her. You must be doing some bad trades.

The second voli goes in, she can stun and dash away, he has no way to engage on her without flash, Yet she can engage on him at will and her execute will burst through is passive

jax can beat riven and riven can beat jax, its a skill match up. The difference is if jax falls behind riven will absolutely delete him from the game , this can be achieved through a lvl 3 all in or help from the jungler.
on the other hand if jax gets ahead of riven he won't even be able to dumpster her because of her CC and mobility making her too safe

L Psy Kongroo3 votesI hear Garen counters Riven pretty well. Max Q and laugh as she tries to trade with you while silenced. Your passive gives you sustain which she lacks early on. After the silence wears off, back away and regen up. Keep in mind that the more abilities Riven has to use to get to you, the lower her overall damage becomes. Use this to your advantage; if you don't think you can fight her, use your Q speed to run away instead of fighting. Also, save your W active for when she throws her ult at you.

As renekton all you have to do is e into her, w to stun, q for damage and health regeneration, e to get out and she has lost a scrap ton of up. As nasus, just farm under turret and if she tries to fight you post six just wither, spirit fire and all in and you should win (you really can't lose unless your bad or she is an lcs god). As volibear....don't know how you lost....

But this is how I deal with Riven. I don't try to kill her in lane, Rather I just make sure I can't die.

Maybe its just because I know how? Its like, her combo and engage is just so obvious before she's going to do it you can just prepare and be like "fuck you m8" and turn the tables.

But seriously, I beat her all the time. She has a crazy powerspike at level 6 but you just have to realize that. Post-6? Don't have a powerspike of your own? DON'T FIGHT HER. Not that hard. Just poke'er down, trade, whatever.
? Pretty simple, just AA and Q.
? Just AA and Q and then slap minions in the face for some sustain. Heck, he has about a big a powerspike as Riven at level 6 so just try to stay on par or more than her farm and bam, you've got a powerspike first, now all-the-fuck-in her and she's now either low on farm or you've just got a kill and she's still low on farm.
Slap slap slap, clap clap clap, slap slap slap, CLAP. FUCKING. CLAP. FUCKING. CLAP. srsly tho Just level 1 1v1 her real quick, slap+e away and bam bb you've just won the trade. Then continue that for awhile and if she tries to go in on you just W and start slappin' away until it wears off and you E away.
Okay this guy is just annoying as fuck to Riven. Ignores all her bully with his passive, bullies her himself without chance for counter-harass with his Q and W, and then he can free poke with his E and counter execute with his R at level 6+. Plus 6+ he's generally a health monster and Riven can't really burst him down with her kit until she has a ton of CDR.
When she goes in for farm or harass, Q, E, if she continues attacking, W, or after E wears off if she goes in, W, and when she's low enough... SNEAK ATTACCCKKK(totally sokka reference) just Q from a bush or even Q-flash if you have it, E until she's just low enough, and ult her. Sometimes just Q and ult if she's really that low. Plus you ignore most of her harass with his passive.
This guy is just terrible. Harass with Q, sustain with Q, counter-harass with W, counter-bully with E-W-Q-E, and oivey this guy is annoying.

And no, I'm not just some Riven main that doesn't want Riven nerfed, I'm being genuine here. Realize her strengths, realize her weaknesses. Just like every other champ.
Though I will admit her being manaless is pretty fucking OP... but I mean really, she'd lose all her mana so fast with it. Maybe add something like energy(What Zed, Shen, Kennen, and Akali have)?
Bharhash1 votesI've had a lot of success in the past laning against a Riven as Pantheon. Of course, I tend to favor MS quints and/or masteries and tend to pick up Boots of Swiftness, so I'm naturally faster than Riven at basically all stages.
But all I do is just Q harass a bit, bait out the stun or the shield. Her dash has a pretty sizable CD at rank 1 (10 seconds), while Pantheon's Q has only a 4 second cooldown. Force her to use the dash early and she loses an escape plus the shield.
If you can't harass Riven, and you can't out trade her, then just go tanky and ignore her as much as you can.
