Feeling triumphs statistics when it comes to balance
Players' feelings about a specific champion (ex. Lee Sin) are often more important to them than raw data when they consider a champion as OP or UP. Riot has access to statistics and data that we as players don't, so I'd say Riot knows what they're doing as far as champion balance is concerned. It just saddens me to see Rioters' posts and arguments about balance with the players get downvoted because the majority of the playerbase...
- Play with too much emotion and suffer extreme highs and lows.
- Do not know how to capitalize on windows of opportunity because they are not familiar enough with the champion that's "OP", or frankly, the game.
When I read a Rioter's comments on windows of opportunity and I see something like Meddler's reply to a player about Zed being a healthy assassin downvoted,
Meddler:
"Agreed, nice post SmokingPuffin.
One other point I'll add in is that Zed's also got noticeable windows of significantly lower threat, given his primary kill pattern includes his ultimate which is on a 120/100/80 second cooldown. A lot of other assassins have much shorter periods of lower effectiveness (e.g. Akali, Le Blanc, Kassadin, Katarina on average, Diana) which means they're not paying as meaningful a cost to try for a kill."
it just makes me plain mad. I'm a Platinum player and frankly, I have a much smoother time playing against a Zed than I do a Leblanc or Fizz, because he actually does have quite long windows of weakness during the early game. Just because you don't know how to capitalize on Zed's weaknesses or die to him five times before raging and blaming Riot for making an OP champion does NOT mean Zed is broken or that the Rioter's comment is wrong. Maybe that's why you're bronze, silver, or gold. Just my piece of mind.
