I'ma Swain Main too. Personally I hope they keep his ults sustain, his ult (maybe give new effects but keep the giant bird), his W cuz I worked hard to get good at it, and his DoT. He should still have his good poke like he has with his current E, and he should still be able to send Beatrice out but make his Q have different effects. I want him to always be the tactical, smart, observant guy he is cuz I like that and I can relate. I hope I like Swain still after his rework, don't kill him off.
I can understand the worry when they say they are going to rework a champ. I read in the forum that is talking about the mage updates, they considered Swain but decided he needed a Poppy/Sion level rework. I am not sure as to how that will go, but at the very least they are learning from their past mistakes. One can only hope that they deliver something fun and rewarding though.
Agreed. I don't play him much anymore; but I really liked Swain when i used to play him a ton.
Morde's rework, all things considered has ended up pretty okay after a ton of post-update changes. Cassiopeia.... not so much.
i think there is no reason to worry about. Do you remember the skin that confirmed 3 - 4 years ago? Nothing happened since. i think this confimation isn't difference. Maybe we might see it in the next 3 - 5 years which I don't know will League last that long.
They said they're giving him a full rework, i.e. new visuals, new lore, very new kit. That's a Poppy/Sion/Karma level rework, so you at least don't need to worry about a "You have all the same abilities, but they're now no longer fun!" type thing like with Cass. What you will need to worry about is having like, five new abilities instead.
Their full reworks have been patchy in the past but Poppy and Sion were pretty successful, so I'd have faith in Swain turning out quite good. I imagine he'd play way differently to current Swain though, wouldn't be entirely shocked if his DOT theme was completely gone.
I actually had fun playing Swain, but if they intend to change him as drastically as they did Sion, I might just stop playing him.
I hope they will turn Swain into a fighter-mage. He is a mage in a human form, but is a beast raven in R form. Rito please. I would not mind if he could switch Human/Raven forms with 1 level, be like Elise but much cooler with both AD and AP scalings so player can choose dark or light side.
But that probably won't happen cuz Rito is doing boring reworks all year long...
