Usually when someone's being a pest, simply reporting them for the respective reason (Feeding, flaming, AFK, etc.) is enough. But then there's the special cases where there's multiple things going wrong and you have to choose which one of them to file a report for. Take the Viktor in my previous game for example, fresh outta bronze and god damn did he want the world to know, he was the god of Silver V and his allies were all "bronze noobs :)". But first, he went AFK for 5 minutes in the middle of the game. Half of our DPS was asleep and it was a 4v5, the enemy capitalised and boy did we pay for it. 5 minutes later, mister glorious revolution himself strolls back into lane and asks: "why is enemy feed? noobs"

The team turned on him and put him in his place rather gently for my standards, I think he only got insulted once. Eventually we lost the game, I report Viktor for going afk and the guy has the audacity to say "we loose because noob team :)". This time the entire lobby told him off (again, rather friendly for my tastes). And he insulted every one of us in the cringe-worthy broken english that to my dismay 90% of EUW seems to have mastered before leaving. And even reported me for verbal abuse.

I've seen this proposed before: Turning the report system into a checklist. And I think it's a great idea. Also, maybe reports shouldn't be "final" until you leave the post-game lobby, on which your report is sent. So you can edit it, add or deduct reasons and so on.

Let's take this case for example, I already reported Viktor for going AFK -before- he went on a tantrum and decided to insult everyone and quickly leaving so he couldn't see any retorts. I was stuck with the AFK report, while honestly I think the things said in that post-match lobby were way more worthy of a report. Turning it into an editable checklist that isn't sent until you leave the post-match screen allows for situations like this to be adressed more severely. I can imagine that a report for going AFK may only get said player a tap on the fingers and maybe a warning, but a report for going AFK and being verbally abusive should probably be investigated further.
