Why don't feeders get punished?

Gunslinger744··3 votes·1,425 views

Isn't feeding the same as trolling? Even if you're "trying" as so many feeders try to save their case, there's no excuse for going 0/9/0 in 20 minutes. But then when you get mad at them for ruining your game, YOU get punished. Because you're just supposed to sit there like a good little boy saying "oh no 0/11/0 Riven, I didn't want to win anyway, don't worry about it! Yeah go feed their adc some more kills, he's just short of his Last Whisper! I'm having fun!"

No. That's not how human nature works.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and if that weakest link decides to snap, the chain becomes useless. But instead of removing the weakest link, you strengthen it with some tin-foil and ignore it, instead removing the stronger links because they might cause the weaker link to break if they put too much pressure on it. Eventually, you end up with the weakest chain in the history of being a chain and being weak.

But by all means, keep babying the bad players, they won't learn anything from it and the only thing that'll happen is more toxicity because they keep queueing and they don't get better, and then the chain-cycle just starts over.

Being bad at the game is not bannable, and so feeding is not bannable.

Gunslinger7441 votes

It's not supposed to be bannable, all I'm basically asking for is for the "Unskilled Player" report to actually do something.

Mathbalnase2 votes

It does. It adjusts future matchmaking calculations for the reported player.

From the wiki:

When players are reported for "Unskilled Player", no tribunal case is made and the report doesn't count against them if a case is made for another reason, however if they are reported for being unskilled consecutively, their Match-Making-Rating will slightly drop.

They say that, but that's like me saying I'm wearing pants right now. Do you know I'm wearing pants right now? No. Am I wearing pants right now? No. The part where I said I was wearing pants is bullshit because I wanted you to think I was wearing pants.

So the real problem, here, is that you just don't trust Riot?

Gunslinger7441 votes

No, I don't trust them in the slightest. But that's not really the problem, the problem is that there's no (visible) punishment for doing badly in a game. In fact it's the other way around: the bad player doesn't get punished, his team gets punished. His team gets punished with a crushing loss and several reports if they rightfully get mad at the bad player.

Now normally doing bad in games isn't too much of a problem, but if you're gonna dedicate yourself to playing a game for at least 20 minutes, bad players become a real problem. Because you can't get away, you just have to watch as a game that started out well is thrown by a single guy, and that single guy does not get any negative reprocussions for it.

So, what your saying is that everyone ever that has a bad day or even just a bad game deserves to get punished for it? If not you should probably re-word it because I just read what you've been saying and that's one of the easy conclusions to draw. Gotta be more specific. Now if you mean people that always do bad and for those people they're probably going to lose enough games to drop in MMR anyway so the unskilled report can only help. Then as for that how do you know if they always play poorly? You can check their match history, sure, but who's to say they've not just been having a poor few days, are on serious tilt and could snap out of it at any time? I get the frustration but it's not as easy as we'd like it to be to deal with.

Good to know I think I will start using this feature more, because I get these kids a lot.

imonly4noobcakes1 votes

Feeding is bannable if they are intentionally feeding, but most people(kids) don't even really read or understand the reportable selections.

Mathbalnase1 votes

Simple (not intentional) feeding of the sort described in the OP was what I was referring to. References to 'the weakest link', 'bad players', etc. make it clear that the OP wants ANY feeding to be punishable. Which would be terrible.

imonly4noobcakes2 votes

Probably because if they are intentionally feeding...then you should report them under that option, and then there are people who may be unskilled...yes they shouldn't be playing regs and def not ranked, but seriously they do not deserve to be punished. Are you a kid??

I've got this beautiful screenshot for you, in fact it was my last game. This guy was trolling, I didn't realise it at the time but in hindsight it's incredibly obvious. The beautiful part about is that because I got mad at him I'M the one that gets punished. The actual culprit is seen as the victim and he can just keep ruining games.

Next time, don't rage.

Getting mad at your teammates won't improve their performance. Neither will insulting them, or using developmental disabilities as a slur (which is a reportable offense itself, btw).

Having their MMR reduced will place them with (and against) players closer to their actual skill level.

Gunslinger7441 votes

The problem is that I'm not the only one that suffers from this idiot while he's busy destroying his MMR, on his way down he's gonna ruin game after game after game. It's better for everyone if he just quits because someone confronted him with what he is: a "developmentally disabled person" that shouldn't be allowed to play "quick thinking" games like LoL in the first place.

Keep doing what you're doing. I eagerly await your permaban.

Gunslinger7441 votes

Well, I truly hope you enjoy your time not being bothered by bad players. Because trust me, eventually you'll be in my position. You'll find yourself in the exact same situation. And then you'll understand.

Mathbalnase1 votes

You think I haven't been matched with bad players?

Get over it. It happens. Move on.

What would that have accomplished? The guy would've simply went 1/17/2 and not realise that it's bad because nobody got mad at him for it. Therefor continuing to play like a fucking vegetable with down syndrome and only one working hand.

There's no need for raging kids in the chat to remind someone that dying in the game is bad. Some players just have bad games and they are usually more than aware of that. Raging at them won't do anything. You can give criticism in a polite manner to point out flaws in their plays and give some advice but that's about it. If I go 1/8/2 in a game then I know that I fkd up. No need for a rager to point out the obvious when he would concentrate on the game or have something to say that is actually productive.

Gunslinger7441 votes

If you go 1/8/2 I'll say you did a good job losing us the game. There's no point concentrating on the game when someone's feeding that badly, you've already lost. Enjoy your defeat and complementary reports as the reason for it gets away without any negative consequences.

Reporting does nothing

darkmatchwaldo2 votes

What if i am just having a shitty game, go 0/9, and get reported for it? Fuck all that.

Gunslinger7441 votes

Why WOULDN'T you get reported for it? If you're 0/9 you're generally the reason why you and the rest of your team lost. That's 4 people that lose because of your doing, or rather what you didn't do, as in play properly.

darkmatchwaldo1 votes

Because you shouldn't be reported for having a bad game? Everyone including pro players have god awful games sometimes, it just happens. You get matched against someone who is just straight up better than you. Sure you can minimize your deaths and play as safely as possibly but if you're up against a Zed who decides to turret dive you 100-0 everytime his ult is up....there's only so much you can do. Just because i go 0/9 in lane doesn't mean my team has to lose, 1 enemy can only carry so hard. With proper warding, disengage, and overall smart play a team can just stall and farm it out until they've caught up.

I feel the same way. it has become league of trolls. Fuck, i constantly see ni gold player with 30-40% win ratio in rank games. It pisses me off that they have yet to be demoted or ban

if bad games were punishable we wouldn't have a playerbase by now.

Look, just think back to the last game where you completely and utterly dominated your opponent during laning phase to the point where they were 0/5 or worse. Were they intentionally feeding you or did you just beat them and they properly take advantage of your lead?

Now think back to the last game you fed in. Were you intentionally feeding or were you just beaten in lane and the opponents properly abused that advantage?

Bad games happen. For every game that someone dominates lane, someone else has to have utterly lost lane. There isn't really anything you can do about that in a PvP game, since someone always has to lose by the nature of the game.
