Damage nerfs - Why you don't get it Riot.
So I've been scrolling the pbe changes, and I noticed something that's been a reoccurring problem that Riot has with nerfing champions. This can be translated to buffing champions too, but I'll just be focusing on the nerfs.
**Viktor ** as an example had a couple nerfs on the PBE related solely on his damage numbers and scalings -
> **Siphon Power (Q) ** > Discharge Damage lowered from 20/50/80/110/140 to 20/45/70/95/120 > Discharge AP ratio increased from 50% to 55% > Chaos Storm (R) > Discharge damage lowered from 150/250/350 to 130/210/290 > Discharge AP ratio increased from 70% to 85%
I can only imagine Viktor is seeing a nerf because of his recent accomplishments toplane as a control mage, but fuck Riot, you just don't get what makes it strong do you? Viktor isn't a problem because of his damage, he's a problem because of his Q cooldown, the mobility he gains from his Q, and the shield strength, all of which translates to incredible safeness and control. Nerfing Viktor like this is just going to hurt him midlane, then create a snowball effect of him getting a buff in the future.
You can translate this to other champions that were nerfed recently aswell; They have their damage nerfed, but not the utility which made them strong in the first place. Examples are Graves, Irelia, Leblanc - etc
So here's the point, Riot needs to stop nerfing damage when the problem is utility with champions And to all the people typing in the comments right now saying "it's funny you want Riot not to nerf damage considering that's all the boards are complaining about", no. I'm arguing that the lazy route of just nerfing damage instead of tackling the real issue with the champion is incredibly lazy, and can lead to huge problems with that champion down the track, and this thread has nothing to do with the over-reaching problems with damage.
