Is Heimerdinger a bit too powerfull?

He's the third highest winrate sitting at a 54% winrate average and is around 70% is master+, i'm a noob and all but doesn't this seem a bit too strong? He is possible one of the most aggravating non assassin midlaners to play against being a huge lane bully and not only that he has nice damage aswell, not only that he seems to fit into a lot of team comps, and is good both top and mid.

No.

Winrate alone is a crap factor for analysis. Look at Heimerdinger's pickrate too, he had his 2 days of bing FotM, but after that only his mains pick him.

Also, Heimerdinger is a counterpick for Melee Midlaners like Zed and Talon and Assasins in general. So when he is picked he is expected to do well, an most likely win.

Contrast that to Zed, Lee Sin or Riven that are ''popular'' champions, and thus end up with lots of people, most likely bad that good, playing them.

Fixed. And that is completly OK, despite Riot's efforts. Mages with decent range simply spam /l while instakilling his turrets and poking him to dead. Syndra completly invalidates his Upgrade! Big Turret with her W. Lux, Xerath and Velkoz destroy him with poke. Malzahar simply thanks him for the free mana recovery and pushes equally hard.

I disagree with heimer being a counter to zed and talon, in fact the people with the blinks and burst like that are the most effective against heimer because they can avoid most of his turret damage

Heimerdinger is a counter in the way that he uberpushes the lane if the assasin ever tries to roam, easily taking a tower, and his they try a 4 man gank in bot, he can easily take 2 towers.

Plus, his turrent barely cost mana, he can rush Zhonia's and if either Zed o Talon try to kill the turrets they go OoM (Talon) or lose farm (both). the point is to place the turrets so they arent too close yet still protect Heimer, and far from minions.

Heimer is a strategic pick instead of a LCSBIGPLAYS twitch reflex pick like Zed or Lee Sin.

I would say so. He's very safe and usually cannot be ganked, so he cannot be shut down until the mid-game, but by then if he has Zhonya's you're usually screwed anyways unless your team can use effective spells and a smite to take down his super-turret.

But the main reason he's so powerful is because he's so easily able to deal with the assassins that are prevalent, inflating his win rate.

Power-check the guys he counters first, then diagnose him. A lot of champions can seem OP on the surface simply because they're used properly by a smaller amount of people. Sejuani, however... is picked more than 10% of the time and has a highly positive win-rate.

His master-tier win rate really can't be quoted - everyone's win rate in that tier fluctuates wildly because there are so few matches played in it. I'm sure even champions like Twitch and Elise get win rates that insane on occasion.

Aside from that, I agree with other people. Heimer isn't popular, but is a strong counterpick. He's picked more often than not when he's needed rather than when someone just wants to use him randomly. That's why he wins so much.

I wouldn't say he fits into a lot of team comps though. If anything I'd say he is one of the most niche champions.

Heimer is absurd. That 70/26 W/L record with Heimer as of this post over-powered. See for yourself... http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/30373652#ranked-stats
