WHY do people still ban Garen???????

even in high gold/low plat people are still banning this trash and allow crap like to jump around instead

My main bans are

secondary bans

The reasons are simple. Many players dont know how to deal with them properly. One good gank and they become unstoppable. You really cant kite a garen and he is so tanky. All he needs is a black cleaver and you are in a world of hurt

So they can first pick Riven with all her main counters banned out.

Because Garen is OP. Well, I guess I can't say that. His synergy with the new items is OP. Still synergizes with Black Cleaver, now synergizes with Dead Man's Plate, and Sterak's Gage. Now in fact, if you try to focus Garen, not only do you have the disadvantage of the squishies destroying your team along with Garen never dying but you also have Garen getting bigger with Sterak's so his E hits even more people! Fun.

Garen used to be fine before all these juggernaut updates. Now he's broken because of all the items. And the ult passive doesn't hurt matters either.

I play a lot of Zilean, and if I have a garen, Darius or any jaugernaught then it is impossible for the enemy to react in time. I max my E and they run 99% faster than usual.

Fiora, i agree with you. Kalista...not so much.

But yes, Garen isn't really worth a permaban on.

Because Kal and Fi are about 100 times easier to kill than Garen.

When those people ban Garen, do they play riven and/or darius after that? Cause that is the reason why.

its because ppl don't play as well together even in gold or plat. Garen is manageable to deal with with team play. but because there normally isn't much team play, he is normally left alone instead of being shut down.

Because they don't want to play against him.

We ban these for reasons

I find easier to manage then garen.

But if misuses his Q then he is crap.

he's still obnoxious, balanced or not. Some people don't want to deal with people who go from 1-100 if you leave them alone for 20 seconds

He's a viable ban... I agree with banning fiora also. I'd only agree with banning the pre nerfs kalista. So happy she didn't get the victorious skin. :)

Some people may not agree with me, but I'll ban quite often for his annoying crap lol.

Also banning Garen isn't worth it, I let the enemy team take him because if I go top as well I know how to play against him.

He is still really good right now but I'd rather ban out a Vayne or a Lux over Garen.

I would ban Garen in games purely because he puts me on tilt when I have him in a game. He's just so annoying that it frustrates me and I don't want that. It's not that I don't think there are better bans, I just hate Garen enough to not want him in my games.

It's more about worrying about what other players go against. I mean, if Garen gets ahead... He's always ahead. I've seen some pretty nasty Garens who decide to screw top-lane and just roam around. It's actually really bad. Mind, he's searching for his Villain but in solo-queue it's really bloody hard to deal with him if he's ahead.

Garen getting ahead is a nightmare. once ahead, always ahead, with almost braindead mechanics. I've played him once since the rework, and literally rofl stomped at 19/1/10.

If Garen didn't have a high chance of being picked then I wouldn't ban him. The guy is so annoying to deal with, he's still a decent laner, and because he now deals more damage while building less damage, he never dies and can stay in the thick of a fight.

I almost never see Garen go negative now simply because he's so hard to kill and deals good damage, and isn't hard to play. Heck even before the rework he was always kind of obnoxious, he just had to build more damage to continue to be a threat, and was therefore easier to kill. I mean think back in early Season 3 before he got nerfed, the nerfs were a slap on the wrist and he was still strong, people just saw the nerfs and stopped playing him.
