Soloq is just absolutely terrible compared to playing with 4 friends, which is exponentially more fun. I wish ranked 5's was more glamorous than it is in the eyes of the community. It's kind of disappointing that all anyone cares about is someone's solo rank.

No one really says you have to play ranked.. It's just one of those things that are hammered into your mind by the community that if your not higher then silver you just suck. Which may be true but..
At the end of the day when all you wanna do is play to have fun, does it really matter? I know some people find their fun in playing to show their superiority by reaching their high rank, but this is the root of when the rage starts to happen with other people do badly.. and it starts that brutal cycle.
I enjoy being low ranked. I can take Kennen ADC if I want to and sometimes do good then if I were higher.
I sometimes want to be silver for a border to feel a little special but is my ego really that great? I'm beginning to lose my drive in ranked more and more. I try my hardest when I play it, but I can never do well enough. I can't carry my teams, my teams cant carry me. Lots of rage ensured as I ask myself
"Is this all.... worth it?"

Ranked Solo--> rewarding but not fun
Ranked 5's--> rewarding and fun

Ive tried and tried to just GET INTO a ranked 5 team that plays regularly. havent found one.
SO for my part, i just wish you could play ranked with 4 random people from your friends list, whenever you felt like it.
