Wait a sec.. Akali is perceived as weak?
;\
I'll admit I've played this game for a long, long time. However, my champion pool consists mainly of 3 champions. I just first-timed Akali after playing against her a lot..
My mechanics obviously aren't very good, and I was playing very defensively in lane vs Fizz.
However, once I got some CS, this champion felt insanely strong. Granted, I don't have a point of reference to go by since I didn't play her before the rework either, but in comparison to, say LeBlanc, she is so much more consistent in getting her damage out. There were a lot of times I was definitely out of position, but shroud fixed that easily, and juking back and forth wasn't too hard.
But man, R'ing to the Draven, Q + Auto and he loses 75% of his HP instantly without even using gunblade active.. it just felt like the champion was basically playing itself. And having that sustain passive is just insane. After being so used to squishy mages, like.. holy crap - getting back a good 10-15% of my HP from one auto just feels so insane, and not having to back at 50% hp just felt broken with how much HP I was getting back.
Like, with other champs I play, it's very easy to misplay, miss my spells, and end up looking stupid, doing no damage, and dying.. but it feels like on Akali, you're guaranteed to do a huge amount of burst because it's all point and click and near instant.
This topic didn't really have a point, I'm just shocked how people think this champion is weak when I have zero mechanics with her and was bursting people down by pressing buttons randomly.
