So, Smite top on health stacking champs?

I was playing around with numbers and such, and realized that Cinderhulk has the highest potential HP amount of any item. This also gives a low CD bonus attack and it is cheap too. So it makes me wonder... Is Smite worth running up top for it on champions like:

It was for a short while, but it isn't that much better for health than other items, and the loss of a summoner spell is more than cancels out any benefit. Besides, its passive is much weaker than Sunfire Cape outside of the jungle.

This was popular in season 5 with top laners that could take both smite and teleport. The item was pretty strong at the moment but eventually was nerfed because it enforced a tank meta, and when I say enforced I mean that nothing else was nearly as good. Right now it isn't worth taking smite on a top laner, the smite component itself is costly right now, and the stats from Cinderhulk isn't worth it, especially on a laner. Maybe if Riot decides to take a look at Cinderhulk again it could be viable, but Riot has a tendency of leaving things they nerf in the grave they made. A recent example would be Kalista, she won't ever be good again unless the entirety of the League community believes she should. Cinderhulk is in the same position.

forfeiting tp is huge

Try it out and let us know if it still works tho

Never mentioned forfeiting TP.... though flash might go... depending on the champion... Most tanks that run enough HP to make this useful get SO deep that if they can't get out with their own means, flash isn't going to do any more good. Red Smite against champions is a LOT like ignite but on a WAY lower CD but less damage. I like Blue Smite because it drains movement speed on a short CD.

i brought up tp because forfeiting flash is just wrong on just about every single champ

You give up map control (teleport) or lane control (ignite, exhaust) for the ability to be tankier. It's really up to you.

Really the only actual benefit is the extra smite for the higher potential dragon and baron control. The extra health you'd get from cinder hulk doesn't really outweigh the power of teleport in my opinion.

Sejuani isn't really a top champion. She's jungle.

Vlad won't build this. That's a bad idea.

Tahm, Voli, Mundo, Garen, and maybe Nautilus.

I think stealing the enemy jungle early on might also be a benefit especially if I want to say, proxy-farm.... Most of the time, the enemy jungler won't know their camps are missing until after you took their red or blue. Loss of a red is a huge early setback for some junglers as some junglers depend on smiting the red to clear their second set of camps.

However, this takes testing as it depends on how low i return to lane with....

EDIT:

I played around with Sejuani top, and so far, she seems to **** on Nasus...

If they ward, jungler and top collapse on you.

Trust me, if it worked the pro scene would be doing it.

However you're new and very low ELO so go ahead. Have fun. You have until 30 to have your own fun. After that, the meta kicks in and things stop working. Just don't get too used to it or married to the idea.

All you are doing is delaying power spikes

Just did the math... It takes 3000 bonus HP for item 1401 to equal item 3083

item 1401 item 3083 item 3022 item 3065 item 3742 + Runes/Masteries

Yea I did a similar build and either way I don't feel its worth it anymore. If the item wasn't nerfed so hard and still gave 25% instead of it's 15% then it would but either way it's not worth losing another good summoner spell.

My build idea: item 1401 item 3742 item 3065 item 3748 item 3083 giving 2700 bonus health so it would only be an extra 405 health so Cinder would only give about 805 HP which is only 305 HP over something like item 3068 so I feel it wouldn't be worth sacrificing a summoner spell for, though I do admit having 2 smites probably isn't so bad in general. If Cinderhulk still had 25% then that same build would of gave an extra 675 HP which would make the item give 1075 HP overall, in that case I would say it was...Poor Cinderhulk lol

I ran the calcs on vlad. It's worth less on him than simply building his normal stuff. He scales much better off Ap than Hp.

Just tested Sejuani top with Cinderhulk!

From the test, I learned a few things!

1: Taking the enemy Red from the start and then taking it as it returns is a great way of getting camped.

2: Smite isn't just good for jungle stuff and chasing down champions... It also guarantees that you will ALWAYS get the cannon minion if you take Strength of the Ages mastery.

3: The act of getting away with Red after getting ambushed leads you to almost always get ganged up on by 4 people while split pushing. 3b: Getting ganged up on in top lane means that my team pushes REALLY hard. 3c: Despite the constant slows, Sejuani still manages to get away 75% of the time without flash.
