How do you fight vlad

I dont play top so im not familiar with many top laners but vlad particuarly frustrates me. 1. Is it possible for an ADC to duel vlad 1v1 assuming equal items? 2. even if i am not an adc and playing jungle and i am ahead of vlad i dont understand how to fight him or how to counter his ult. Could anyone enlighten me because he seems to be making a comeback.

he's weak early on, gets a decent power bump once he finishes his WotA. Early on you want to fight him in big bursts in lane. His pool costs a lot of HP and has a long cooldown so if you can force that out of him, then you should try to go all in again shortly afterwards to finish him off.

Lategame he's pretty monstrous. Not sure what to say, difficult to burst since he builds a little tanky and can save himself with his pool and sustain. Difficult to kill him with sustained damage because he has so much sustain himself. You need grievous wounds or you need to outrange him with a champ like Xerath.

He's weak early, but he's not gonna be dying early unless you can somehow get a level 2 gank.

He won't be killing you either, pretty much for sure until 6 (unless you're stupid) and to be honest.... he doesn't really do much in lane besides wait for ganks and farm.

Late game he's a monster, once he's got Torment/Rylai's/WoTA/Zhonya's etc, he becomes a tank that heals for insane amounts and has a huge effect on teamfights.

Vlad has to be beat at early game. Or even mid game. Going ADC against him ensures a loss. He gladly trades because of his health regen on his Q. So you have to make it so it's not just a trade, but an all in where his massive early cooldowns #rek him.

Wukong is Vlad's bane, from what I've gathered. But playing as other champs, play it to the style of your champ with a bit of aggression early game. If you go Jarvan, all in him like a pissed midget. If you're Darius, keep him in your range as much as you can to punish him for trying to trade damage.

Early-mid game doesn't really matter 90% of the champ pool reks him.

Lategame tho Vlad takes his dildo and sticks it up in your ass.

I've seen a lot of vlads do terrible against champions with gap closer. Pick irelia or zin zhao and jump on him anytime he ants to q you(since your jump range = his q range which is his only form of poke early in. In the beginning of the game it would take him like 3 or 4 q's to do what you can do to him in 1 all in. If he decides to q a minion instead of you then thats time where he basically can't retaliate against you.

he's weak to bursty champs, or ones with alot of AS and lifesteal.

do not trade with him unless you want him dead, or unless you have a potent healing plan. also he's weak to cc.

for example, wukong bursts vlad and knocks him up with his ult, his ult is useless if he used it, and didn't cast spells afterwards, try stunning/immobilize him after he cast his ult to prevent incsreased damage (you take 12% more damage aslong as you're marked with his ult) i kept killing a vlad using nautilus, with a specters cowl and a wit's end, kept going ham each time and it was a success. (but he probably was a terrible vlad anyways)

Either burst him down or play someone that relies on auto-attacks for dmg. His long cooldowns at lower levels is a serious drawback. I've fought vlad lvl 1 with Tryndamere and I destroyed him. He also really needs his items to be a threat. If you can shut him down early, he won't be a threat for most of the game. Playing passive against him is a death sentence.

Quicksilver Sash is a pretty effective counter to him. Use it to cleanse his R so he doesn't get the damage amp against you. It builds into Mercurial Scimitar too, so if you're AD, it can be used to hit him back.

all in him at early levels, if he keeps poking u for free then u already lost

Grimspeake1/13/2015, 3:19:23 PM1 votes

if he has to use his pool when hes got a lot of health it costs more too
