So, I did my placements with my buddy o.o...And we won 6 and lost 4...

He got sent to bronze 5 I got sent to silver 1 o-o. How in the hell that work.

Then that's how it works. you dont start from zero. you start with a limited delta from your prior ranking. and you screwed your MMR by playing with him, just FYI. If you played solo, you might have gotten gold at least.

It doesn't look at the pervious ranking/MMR. The Ranked 5s Flex was a fresh start at 1200 MMR for all players which is why Diamond players are even being placed in Bronze/Silver. It's not been perfectly balanced which is why it's offline and Rot is fixing it.

oh right, the NEW placements. yeah.

have to say though, as a silver player who plays well but cant "carry".. my ranked games have been MUCH more enjoyable. After my placements, for the most part, both sides are getting a plat, a couple golds, and a silver. (these are season 6 rankings)

i was impressed at generally how well it was CONSISTENT about that. Somehow, both sides usually get each type. I thought it was deliberate. Games were great. For the most part, games were won or lost, based on which team actually PLAYED BETTER. Rather than outcome being decided by "which team got stuck with the morons this round". Made me actually feel good about playing ranked. or league in general.

my "normals" mmr is something horrible like 1080. freakin ELO hell. but new ranked, is around 1280 and staying there, or rising. So it's been great...

Until one game, i had all S6 silvers on MY team.. and the other team was plats and golds >< yet "same" mmr teams somehow.

that was a nightmare.

DAMMIT!! They "fixed" the matching. no more golds and plats on either side for me this morning :(
