Has Vlad been nerfed into a "noob-friendly" Viktor?

He does no damage now if you build Spirit Visage or Zhonya early on. Actually, I don't think you can afford to build these items at all now.

You HAVE to go full AP and even then you're just squishy as hell and your damage is... EH.

I mean, basically, you are now this "trollish" mid laner who sustains in the lane (but can't make any plays) until you get 1 or 2 AP item. And then you just wait for a fight to start, Ghost in, deal some AOE nuke damage and better pray one of their carries dies because you yourself can't take any punishment in retaliation if they survive.

Sounds like a squishy Viktor type character (except with a get out of jail Pool card) who is more noob friendly (don't have to aim lasers, I can just click Q and E when I go in).

I feel like without some tankiness, the Sustain he has is more or less just cosmetic. Its cool how he can get portions of his health back (after casting E too) but does the enemy really care? I mean without the option to build a Visage, 1 combo still more or less kills you.

I feel like his sustain (outside of early laning) is largely just cosmetic now. He's really just become a Viktor type glass cannon burster, an "AOE assassin" type dude with huge potentials for messing it up (I ghosted in... OOPS he flashed my E after I Ulted, I'm dead now).

I don't know... what the hell is Riot thinking...

He's a tank because he has lots of health and 2 healing moves, and a mage because of his light CC (W) that slows and he's AP or something, don't compare him to other champions. He's his own champion. He can 1v1 someone, and he can win because he survives long enough for his damage to get off and his W will block deadly ults such as Veigar Velkoz Fizz etc..I don't think he can really 100-0 someone, but he can definetly kill them if they're under 80%. Lategame, he's going to be even tankier with a bunch of damage from item 3116 item 3089 to allow him to 100-0 the carries with some R + E + Q + W and boom hes back to full health because he has so much heals

Noob-friendly viktor? Have you not seen the current viktor compared to the clunky release viktor? xD Jesus I'd even rate GP a bit less clunky.

What I mean is that basically, he's a

"Let's not join a fight until it starts. When it starts, I'm going to run in, try to burst some carries down with my AOE stuff and then probably die unless we win the team fight" champ now

except his abilities are easier to land than Vik but for less damage, and he's got a get out of jail Pool ability.

He brings no utility to the team (besides damage Amp but not that he's not tanky, its pretty much just part of his burst).

Are you kidding? Full AP Vlad doesnt do nearly as much damage as full AP Viktor

That's because Vlad is a mage and a tank, he's supposed to build health, armor and magic resist to actually do his role in a team. Meanwhile, Viktor is a burst mage

we're talking about full AP Vlad right now. Not normal Vlad

Due to his E and range he simply doesn't deliver burst as fast as an actual burst mage. Unless he has his empowered Q, he's not going to burst someone down. But that takes some preparation.

On paper yes Viktor deals way more damage. In practice though? He's too easily zoned out/focused.

A full AP Vlad has much more survivability in battle to let him reach his targets.

But they more or less do the same thing now (run in and burst main targets AOE style). Just that Vlad is more noob friendly?
