Corki buff!

Thank you Riot!! you dismissed that odd gatling gun change and went with a more reliable passive cooldown! if you time things right you can have the package almost everytime you go back and that's super useful! also it has this unique feel, like, there's no skill in game with this big of a cooldown but with the buff it feels a lot more reliable and you kinda adjust your playstyle to its rhythm; in the past you had no choice but forget about the package until it finally popped up on it's own.

I'm very pleased with the changes though I still think Corki is on the weaker side but probably really close to balanced and the whole magic damage issue that bothered me before doesn't seem that much of a problem once you sit down and try to make the best out of it, of course this is silver and people wouldn't figure out Corki's huge problem with magic resist but oh well.

I don't know if you guys will be doing more changes to my beloved white moustached yordle, but if you gotta I'd love to see the casting time on receiving the package shortened, because when the enemy is knocking on your base you wanna get there as fast as possible but picking the package can delay you quite a bit, even if you get that massive MS boost (which doesn't stacks with homeguard? I think)

anyway! once again! thank you for giving the corkles Corki some love!

He is still weak because of the tri-force change. It still does not give any crit, and without the crit, Corki's burst won't be that strong unless you get lucky with your crits. Tri-force is a must in Corki's build, and with IE and essese reaver, you only get 40% crit chance. If you get something like a rapid fire cannon, it gives you a 70% chance but that covers four items. Not including boots. It makes him weak in lane/midgame. Well guess what? Corki is supposed to shine mid game! I doubt this would help a lot. Maybe a tiny change in the winrate, but Corki needs more.

Yes I definitely agree, he needs something more to fight competent enemies, I don't know if crit should be the way or even bumping his numbers up since they are quite high already, specially with his shred.

I'd advocate more for mechanical changes, what if he didn't knock people aside when he does the super valkirye? Maybe increasing his speed on valkirye both package and normal too. Or giving Phos bomb something else like a slow or vision reduction or something. Incresing the rate for Big rockets could be nice too, 3 instead of 4.

That bonus aa passive nerf buchered corki. they need to think of a new way to implement corki's passive. what I suggest is to set his auto's to do 110% physical damage, or 100% physical + 10% true damage. that way he can penetrate tanks and build AD items like last whisper, black cleaver, bortk and ghost blade.

Right now corki doesn't really synergize with any AD item besides triforce, that's why I think its the correct solution.

uhm he used to have what you request, and they took it for some reason, I guess that the items back then benefited him more, but yeah, adding that 10% extra could work well for our beloved yordle u.u

I think Corki's pretty strong again actually.

I've been experimenting with extra E ranks early for the pen, and this is the build I'm now using (copied from LCK)

item 3078 item 3020 item 3146

You got the attack speed that's nice from the triforce and the raw dmg stats and active burst from the gunblade and you got omni lifesteal so it's a very good 2 item power build versus squishiesss

It's like a better version of his build from last year that had Blade Ruined King 2nd

The LCK guy went item 3147 afterwards which would be good if there's no tanks in your way. If there is you could go more standard ADC after that. I would probably go with a zeal item if that way first (unless extra fed). Then again getting more AD is probable better...

He's definitely a champion you can't fall behind on gold though, because then you lack a way to penetrate tanks or bust people safely. But given his versatility he is a champion that really shouldn't fall behind often...

I've been thinking about gunblade on him too, but if you do the calculations, it turns out he doesn't benefits much from AP items and even though omnivamp is pretty good, it's only 33% effective for area of effect abilities which Corki is all about, I think in the end it goes toe to toe with regular life steal items, the problem I have with gunbalde though is that its passive scales off of AP which you don't get much.

Still the item does 250 + 0.3AP (and it comes with 80 AP) so it's an interesting addition but as I said in the beginning, Corki doesn't scales much off of AP:

With 40 AD + 80 AP from item 3146

Phosphorus bomb gains 20 + 40 = 60 dmg. Valkirye gains a total of 16 dmg Special delivery gains a total of 300 + 80 = 380 (if they step on the area for the whole duration of course) Gatling gun gains a total of 64 dmg Missile barrage gains 40 + 24 = 64 dmg at max level The Big one gains 60 + 36 = 96 dmg at max level

from 80 AP you gain 40 + 16 + 80 + 24 + 36 = 196 dmg from 40 AD you gain 20 + 300 + 64 + 40 + 60 = 484 dmg plus 274 from gunblade's active for a total of 954 dmg

let's take a look at the bloodthirster

With 75 AD from item 3072

Phosphorus bomb gains 37.5 dmg Special delivery gains a total of 562.5 dmg Gatling gun gains 120 dmg Missile barrage gains 75 dmg The big one gains 112.5 dmg

From 75 AD you gain a total of** 907.5 dmg**

I'm gonna leave the numbers here because I'm pleasantly surprised haha, definitely gunblade wins the race here (not by much, but still), I think that what salvages this item on Corki is the 40 AD, plus healing from EVERYTHING even if it's only 33% effective would probably be seriously benefitial for him. Thank you for the suggestion man!

Would probably still swap away the gunblade late game once you have lots of crit for the shield and AA dmg, not tied to a cooldown. But the extra burst and sustain from gunblade though helps earlier at least.

So I went into a game where I was winning with Corks, I figured I'd try the gunblade thing, it was really really nice at the beginning, I was bursting a vayne and out-life-stealing her (even though, she didnt have a botrk or warlord's). The extra nuke was a nice back up tool for finishing some foes too but...

well, my team wasn't doing so hot as myself (I was 10/0 at one point) and they kinda needed me to stay ahead of the curve which gunblade didn't do, if anything, the lack of crit made me barely go toe to toe with a Vayne that had died 6 times more than me, and it was only mid game :S I tried rushing an infinity edge which was ok but couldn't reach 40% crit chance in time and ended up loosing. So, for the sake of numbers once again, I'll do the calculations for both of these items too.

From 70 AD on item 3508 or item 3031

Phos bomb = 35 dmg Special delivery total = 525 dmg Gatling gun = 112 dmg Missile Barrage = 70 dmg The big one = 105 dmg

total = 847 dmg

So as you can see, the damage is even less but there was one thing that I was missing on my post and it's Corki's most important feature since he's in fact an ADC, his auto attacks. Auto attacks in between casts against one foe should be at least 4 (Gatling gun, AA, rocket, AA, phos bomb, AA, rocket, AA) so:

item 3146 total dmg = 954 4 auto attacks with 40 extra AD totals = 160 dmg Total dmg = 1114 dmg

item 3072 total dmg = 907.5 4 auto attacks with 75 AD total = 300 Total dmg = 1207.5

That's the break point, now the differences between infinity edge/essence reaver and bloodthirster is only 5 AD BUT crit chance is a huge modifier here.

item 3508 total dmg = 847 4 auto attacks with 70 AD = 280 x 1.2 (from 20% crit chance) = 336 Total dmg = 1183

item 3031 total dmg = 847 4 auto attacks with 70 AD = 280 x 1.7 (20% crit chance + 50% bonus crit damage) = 476 Total dmg = 1323

I think my critical strike bonus formula is wrong but more importantly is the fact that combining both essence reaver and infinity edge you reach 40% cdr, plus your chances of criting effectively doubles meaning that no matter what you do, any choice is better than rushing Gunblade.

Now the problem is actually rushing the item even if the guys at the LCK does it, perhaps if your team is doing well and you lack some CC you could go for the slow on the active. The item does works on Corki but sadly he's has low damage if crit isn't present. Maybe as a 5th item it could work, but still, bloodthirster is more effective at healing you since your autos will be doing crazy damage.
