Hey long time Morde player here, been playing a lot of Morde, and seeing a bit of him as well. Figured I'd throw my feedback on what he feels like.

First game, the solo lane. This game sucked, getting use to his new kit was very hard because it looks like his old kit but it really isn't, not at all. Playing against a Syndra only compacted these problems of basically a new champ wearing Morde's skin. My friend said he'd help me in the next game in the bot lane and the team was nice enough to let me try it.

The second game. Holy crap what a difference, it went better than the last time we did Braum/Morde bot lane (something I devised before his change to quick charge Braum's stun.) This was a monster combo, If something was caught, it was dead. Morde's W makes him pretty much unkillable in lane when he has a melee support that can also stand in that wave giving him back a lot of health. From the last game I learned that E was a joke so I only put a single point in it and maxed out his Q and then W. End game I was one shotting their skarner tank with my third Q with a fun little hybrid damage build.

Third and forth were jungle games where I either saw someone do it, then did it myself. It felt alright, I had presence on the field. And if the enemy jungler saw me, he regretted it. Not a lot to say about it though. Didn't stick out of my head as anything special.

Fifth game was with a Soraka. I would not reccomend this. While I still felt strong in lane even against a counter like Vayne. Soraka didn't give me a whole lot and played hyper passively. Lost bot lane, and lost game.

Sixth Game my friend who mains support came back. He wanted to try Nami with Morde, this was a monster of a combo. Nami's kit has good synergy with Morde. Even though I wasn't getting powerful W returns from two people standing in a minion wave Nami's heal made up for that. Her slows, knock ups, and speed ups gave me everything I needed to make the enemy Vayne not have a lot of power in trades.

Over all I feel this new Morde is interesting, not the good wave clearer of old, that could hard push a lane, then harass you under turret forever but a new champ that is wearing his skin. I don't like the fact that I must have an ally to use my W even though it is very powerful now.

Q: This is where all of Morde's power is, one hit is a love tap, two hits is a legit ability, and then the third hit wins what ever fight you had. Have one item, and fighting against a hyper fed champ, doesn't matter, you win the trade if you got the third hit. Have absolutely no damage items? Doesn't matter, if you land that third hit, you win the trade, that's just how it is, I would say that all of new Morde's damage is in this one ability.

W: This is the ability I have the most gripes with. I liked the old W, which is almost what this is, trading tankiness for healing I'm fine with. And if you can get an ally it is very strong. But relying on having a ghost or an ally to make it work is painful. There were a few times that I died simply because my allies didn't realize that I was trying to save them with this ability, and when they zigged when they instead should have been coming to me I died for it. While you can argue that Kalista has this same problem with her ult if her ally isn't there, it's different. This is Morde's mobility move, and a basic move that he has at max rank, every 8 seconds without CDR. Not having this hurts a lot. It feels forced and trying to insure that Morde can only go bot in this current meta which was enforced since season two. Which makes the character very sink or swim by limiting his options to jungle, or bot, leaving out two places he can go. I would suggest he gets a weaker version on minions, something like his old W where the circles don't double up damage, and he only gets the healing benefit if he's in melee. At the very least allow him to do it for mobility reasons.

E: Once one of his strongest wave clearing and harassing abilities. E is now a shadow of what it once was. Not good at wave clear unless you put a lot of levels into it, not good at harass. His E is that move I throw before and after my Q to get a little more damage in, and I mean little. While yes it is a good shield maker it isn't that great of one. In all honesty I put one point in it now and forget it, while it now has an AD scaling on it, and is his only solo wave clear ability, it is rather meh now.

R: Well I don't know how you did it, but you made the AI in this ability worse. ghosts spaz out looking for targets, they don't follow you very well, even with W and they tend to forget orders issued to them if you take more then four steps away from them. And worse yet dragon has the most problems with this. Unless you are in a melee 1v1, the target is dedicated to killing you and will not flee, dragon is no help in a fight spazing around, losing targets, his auto attacks taking too long to go off. As of right now I use dragon for tower pushing and nothing else. I don't expect him to help me win trades. I don't expect him to deal damage to a guy chasing me, because he wont very well. The AI needs a lot of touch up on this big guy, maybe make his auto attack range longer, and his animation shorter. Make him move faster so he can actually keep up with me. Because other than intimidation factor, the dragon is pretty much just an over glorified minion that helps me take towers. If I wanted that I would have ulted the enemy tank.

There you go, that's my full feedback on Mordekaiser, from push champ to skirmisher. Personally I'd like to see his W have a lesser version he can cast on minions, for at the very least, mobility reasons. Spread out his power from his Q to E. And give his minions better AI so they aren't clunky as all heck.
