Instead of nerfing Healers into the dirt in ARAM, just buff baseline sustain.

As things stand, if you end up playing Sona Soraka Nami Yuumi on ARAM, your healing (which is quite a large portion of your power budget) is neutered. On somebody like Sona, whose heal isn't very large to begin with, the ability is basically dead.

If you've played for long enough, you know exactly why this is the case: "there's almost no innate sustain in ARAM, so anybody who can keep their team healthy is broken since they can just rack up chip damage until they feel like going in."

...Riot, the way around this is not to take healing away from healers. It's to give everybody more healing so supports keeping people healthy isn't such a big deal.

Solutions include...

  • Give everybody in ARAM elevated health regeneration.
  • Buff the living shit out of health relics.
  • Let people walk back to the fountain to heal themselves.

Your suggestions are going too far, everyone walking to fountain when they lose 15% hp would make the game boring. The mode is ruined anyway because some champs were gutted but most op champs are still op and despite their balancing threre is still no counterplay too poke champs anyway.

Yeah that would be boring.

Good thing nobody's dumb enough to run back to fountain when they're at 85% health.

If you're on critical HP, running back to fountain to heal is certainly much less boring than sitting around waiting for death.

The idea of running back to fountain to replenish HP goes against the entire principle behind the 'Murder Bridge'.

I absolutely hate this idea. I play ARAM for bloody murderfests, and this would do a lot to stymie those, ESPECIALLY the fountain regen. If you lose most of you HP, the solution is to make a suicide play and make the most of your remaining life, then respawn with fresh items. That's the nature of the gamemode.

You clearly don't play aram and hopefully Riot doesn't see this post. Healers are plenty strong and that's fine as is since there's not many of them. Giving everybody the ability to heal back to full would just encourage passive play. Aram is in an ok state atm and doesn't need any major changes.

I have seen hundreds of ideas on how to balance aram and make it feel better to play but this is the worst one yet and it's not even close.

  1. Wrong. Since SR is kinda dogshit right now and TT is on its way out, ARAM is the only thing I play anymore when I play League at all.
  2. Nope. The champions may be playable, but they aren't healers on ARAM. With the exception of Soraka (who can still be a healer once she gets Warmogs online) every champion who normally plays as a healer has to switch gears since their heals are straight up pitiful.
  3. To the contrary, it would enable people to be ballsy. If everybody has sustain, sitting back and poking is a pretty terrible strategy. If you want to kill people you need to go all-in and murder the shit out of them. If you try that on live and it doesn't work out, you'll end up limping away on 15% health and be locked out of the match for a while. If you have sustain, you can just heal up and get back to the fight to try again.
  4. ARAM isn't much more broken than the normal game, but that doesn't mean it's fine.

Nah if they wanna fix aram revert the poke nerf and adjust champs accordingly, it's kinda dumb to see ziggs had a -15% damage AND the poke nerf on top of it, whereas Kai-sa is chunking people from 2 screens away with a bigger than nids spear hitbox that becomes spammable after you get an item + yellowpages. You shouldn't be punished for landing long/max range abilities on champs that mainly only have 1 long range ability, as usually distance makes it harder to hit, if anything make it so after that same distance there is automatically some tenacity thrown on it (20% or so, nothing ridiculous still scales the same as normal so you don't have CC proof juggs after 750 units but makes morgana and co. feel like less of a death sentence), and get rid of this EFFECTING TRAP CHAMPS. It's really obnoxious to see champs like Teemo and Shaco, that are already pretty hard countered by oracles anyways, getting damage nerfed because you aren't standing right next to whatever trap they just walked into.

While we're at it, maybe have a cooldown timer on buying oracles (say, twice the duration so a 10 minute timer until you can purchase again) per person or set a limit per team, so you don't have one dedicated oracles machine, or maybe have it so max of two can be active at a time on a team

Show in the client IN NICE BOLD LETTERS SO EVERYONE CAN SEE if your champ has any aram-specific factors to them, so you know ahead of time if your champ has been heavily buffed or nerfed. Instead of the healers only doing 50% healing, why not institute the URF style grievous that effects everyone and diminishes over the course of the game for everyone, start it at 50% and have it go down by 5% every minute or something. Sustain champs like Vlad and ADC's that rush lifesteal are just less effective in the very beginning at negating all of your poke themselves, and healers still have that early nerf but will actually get to come into play later without being forced to buy 3 heal-buff items.

Bring up some of the TT items like moonflair and the pillager, maybe even some of the dead items like Force of Nature, and get rid of the restriction of GA not being on here to counter some of the current "I'm gonna kill you no matter what your team does" champs. Hell, make an item that lowers MR in an area or has a cleaver-like effect for MR, as currently all AD teams are just fine, whereas all AP teams tend to get megaboned after the 3rd item. The point of aram is to have off-meta builds and killfests, and yeah some champs are overbearing and deserve some tuning, but you're gonna need to remove the poke-nerf on top of that, seeing as poke teams HAVE to win super early or get facerolled by the smallest amounts of resists

I'd prefer if all allie heals worked like this instead.

Change from 50% to 20% healing reduction. Heals will return 80% of the healing done as damage(cannot reduce you lower then 1%Hp) over 3 seconds. (so If soraka Heals you, it'll heal you for 100HP. and over 3 seconds it lower itself to only a 20HP heal) and to make sure it cant lower you below 1% So you can kill allies.

Hopefully, just so that you dont spam it to heal allies behind turrets, but more or less keep them alive during fights.

All healers and ADC with lifesteal on ARAM are still super broken, especially Sona who gets so much gold income/exp to go a damage carry build along with pumping AoE heals and shields.

Giving everyone mini-Warmogs or Platform Regen completely defeats the point of ARAM of dying to buy in early stages (and some people would just run to base constantly), while in the later stages people would just sit back and regen after eating a damage spell (giving healers team massive advantage since they don't have to sit back at all to heal up). If you suck and get poked constantly, you should die.

Only thing they should do (apart by disabling some champs and removing this dumb +-% Increases) is increase first 2-3 Relic Heals %missing hp scaling for melees, since they tend to be heavily punished for even approaching minions if they play vs Ranged champs at the start of the game.
