Darius Advice?

Hey so I have been spamming Vladimir with amazing success lately. The only lane I had any difficulty in was a rumble one in the early-mid game. Even the few games I didn't do so hot in the lane I came back with my late game. However I just played a Vlad into Darius matchup and I was having a ton of trouble. It didn't help that lee was paying non-stop visits to my lane (Think 5 ganks at 15 minutes) However I felt like I had no lane presence after Darius's first back.

He rushed a spirit visage and after that I just couldn't keep up. He was so fast I had to rush swifty boots followed by my normal rylais first item. Even with this I could only kite him until after he finished black cleaver. I had no way to waveclear easily since my E at no point quite one shot caster minions causing me to lose cs. I also couldn't even go to waveclear until he backed off the farm as it reached my turret. I tried roaming at one point and promptly lost turret. I couldn't stop his split, only slow it down slightly and I couldn't contribute to teamfights because we would lose turrets. We had a nid jg too which meant that thanks to his early spirit visage rush she had no kill threat on him.

I feel fine playing just about anything into anything, I even run Nasus into Darius without many worries, but I just felt helpless. Any advice on what I could do better?

Defusing the bomb that is Darius as a vladimir is difficult.

Essentially, you can only CS with auto attacks and transfuse. You should never be using your E at any time dueling Darius unless it's an all in situation. Don't use it to cs, don't use it to try and damage him, don't use it period. The only time you should ever try to use it is if he's running at you. Charge it up and force him to back off, if he doesn't, he gets slowed and you can get away. Other than that, never use this ability.

Your main abilities will be transfuse (harass) and sanguine pool (escape). Use transfuse to consistently wittle him down. Use sanguine pool the second he goes for an apprehend that you think is going to catch you.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but here's how it's going to go down if he does apprehend you.

You will die or lose the subsequent trade. No ifs ands or buts. Post pull, Darius is probably going to AA > W you and then run between you and your turret. Sanguine pool only lasts two seconds so that's your respite. Once you emerge from the ground, the darius just free hits you all the way back to your turret, usually five stacking you in the process depending on where the apprehend took place (middle of lane or closer to his turret).

Optimally, you're able to transfuse him endlessly until he is forced to leave the lane or die. THIS OPTIMAL SITUATION IS YOUR GOAL. Transfuse is your best buddy (like in most of your matchups). Do everything in your power to not get pulled. Apprehend is your death sentence.

Ingrain this in your head.

In teamfights, use your ult on as many people as possible (like always). Ignore Darius (be mindful of your stacks though) and let your tank deal with him and try to nuke the backline with your E as much as possible.

-Darius one trick who has also been trying to get into vlad lately as a third safety pick

Keep. Your, Distance. You need to provoke a darius player into using his Q as his W would be a problem if you can melt away, hell the slow would even being in your favour if he tries to chase you as you deal damage in that state.

Words from a Darius player.
