Yasuo Wind Wall (What's the firkin deal O.o???)

I have Since looked more and more into this ability, watching videos, reading wiki's and boards, and the more I read and watch the more fickle and convoluted it becomes. The amount of abilities it does and does not block requires time to learn, but isn't this a game, aren't you supposed to be able to lock in a champ and read their abilities in game to learn them and know right then and there how that champ functions?

No every time a new player picks Yasuo there should be a link attatched to the description of Wind Wall showing everything it blocks and does not block so that player can feel that they were properly informed and not cheated of their time when going into the game. "Then" that player should have the option of pausing the game until they have watched the video and learned each and everything Wind Wall does and does not block so as to feel they have not denied the necessary and valuable information with which to play and compete with their new champ.

I know that sounds excessive, and honestly I love the mechanic it's one of the best in League. What I am doing is stressing a point and looking closely at the integrity of a company I care about.

What people are asking for is some understanding of what he block and what he doesn't. The fact that he blocks "some" but not all is confusing and requires hours of playtesting in game to learn instinctively what can and can not be blocked. There is no other mechanic like it in league, it is one of the most fun, and most impressive, but also the most confusing and convoluted.

And honestly abilities should not require watching videos and tons of play testing and reading. They should be able to be understood by reading the text given in game or the players will feel frustrated and betrayed.

So here's a suggestion? All or none? Or... what if, and I like this one the most... what if, the Wind Wall had it's own center of gravity, and perhaps also it's own Hit Points. Then the larger, heavier, and harder the spell that was hitting it was, the faster it would break, or the further it would be pushed backward forcing more instinctive counter play on the allied team.

That way it could in fact be all or none, but the heavier spells would break if faster if perhaps the Yasuo playing currently had not chosen to level Wind Wall but other abilities instead. It might also be wise for ultimates to collapse if faster, then other things could come into play. As the Wall breaks HP could be stolen by Yasuo, or when it breaks his flow shield would strengthen for several seconds, I am sure there are many such ideas and examples.

^ _from the above link

noun 1. an object fired from a gun with an explosive propelling charge, such as a bullet, shell, rocket, or grenade

a body projected or impelled forward, as through the air.

Your link is redundant.

A rock thrown rolling on gorund is classified as a projectile too. It has been discussed several times already which interacts and which doesn't with Wind Wall. The fact that you fel the impellence of making a fuss on the boards instead of reading the wiki page makes you a self entitled largemouthed kid.

By the very definition you posted a projectile is something "airborne".

I am sure it has been um, "discussed", but that will never change the definition of what qualifies something as a "projectile".

You should look of the definition of "impellence" too I think?

I do know what you mean about the rolling projectile though, but it doesn't fit in my mind.

Less of a projectile, and more of a boulder, or "bowled weapon", a boulder driven by enough force to inflict damage, and then become a weapon.

I'm not actually asking about the video. My question isn't if his wind wall was still up in time to block Nami's Wave Ultimate. My question is why does Yasuo's ult something that's supposed to block ranged attacks block something that is obviously a ground based attack. If nothing else, if it is not going to block Lux's ult then maybe Nami should be give the same consideration. I love playing Nami but if the enemy team counter pics Yasuo she becomes very handicapped in the later team fights.

Nami's ult is coded as a projectile because it travels from one location to another. Lux's ult is coded as an aoe ground effect because it hits its entire area at once.

This is the same reason Windwall can't block anything Cho'Gath does.

I suppose what I am frustrated over is "visual clarity". Your mind wants to make sense of the game in some sense of reality albeit mythical, and the mind still strives to understand the laws that govern gravity and physical forces in the world you are traveling. Of course there is suspended belief and concessions made to any game you play as they cannot be expected to follow all the rules of our world when people are running around shooting magic at each other, but still. Your mind asks unheeded why does one example follow the "laws" of this worlds physics and not another.

On this list of what does and does not block Yasuo's ult you can see how hodge podge, wishy washy, and all over the place what is denied and what isn't, actually is. Lots of ranged attacks are blocked, but some aren't, and lots of ground based attacks are blocked as well, but without playing a hundred games on Yasuo, or memorizing that list, but probably doing both, you would be hard pressed to know what did and what did not block your wind wall when it really counted.

And you would need those same hundered games to know what he was going to block if you were an opposing champ and were about to make a coordinated play, with or without team-mates.

It seems obvious that there are several champs whose abilities could not be made to be blocked by Yasuo's wind wall because that would make him too much of a hard counter to them, to unfair of course.

The following projectiles are described as passing over or under Wind Wall.png Wind Wall and do not interact with it:

Ekko Ekko's Parallel Convergence.png Parallel Convergence
Nautilus Nautilus's Depth Charge.png Depth Charge
Syndra Syndra's Force of Will.png Force of Will (thrown object)
Xerath Xerath's Rite of the Arcane.png Rite of the Arcane
Quinn Quinn's Blinding Assault.png Blinding Assault
Ziggs Ziggs's Mega Inferno Bomb.png Mega Inferno Bomb (while over the map)

The following projectiles are bugged and will bypass Wind Wall.png Wind Wall:

Vel'Koz Vel'Koz's Tectonic Disruption.png Tectonic Disruption (the visual effect is destroyed, but the ability will still happen as normal)

The following projectiles are not destroyed when they hit Wind Wall.png Wind Wall and their units will drop to the ground beside the wall:

Azir Azir's Conquering Sands.png Conquering Sands and Emperor's Divide.png Emperor's Divide
Fizz Fizz's Chum the Waters.png Chum the Waters
Jinx Jinx's Flame Chompers!.png Flame Chompers!
Olaf Olaf's Undertow.png Undertow
Orianna Orianna's Command- Attack.png Command: Attack
Zed Zed's Living Shadow.png Living Shadow
Zilean Zilean's Time Bomb.png Time Bomb

So what I am asking is if Yasuo's wind wall is given to let pass all these attacks "necessary" to the champions survival, why not Nami "The Tidecaller" as well? I was playing games with her today and really enjoying it until the enemy team picked Yasuo, and that was it. Every team fight he would save his wind wall for Nami's "Tidal Wave" ensuring that our team was denied a huge amount of it's cc, and it seemed, well too lopsided. A large amount of the "projectiles" that Yasuo blocks travel very fast so there are enough chances for counter play and the game stays enjoyable. Tidal Wave travels so slowly that it's incredibly easy to wind wall and Nami needs it to engage, needs it to escape, but it's so slow it seems unfair for it to be negated so easily.

But you know Nami's Ultimate "Tidal Wave" isn't that physically/spacially different than Azir's Ultimate "Emperors Divide". Emperors Divide is faster and knocks back, Tidal Wave is very slow and knocks up, but can you imagine if Yasuo's Wind Wall blocked Emperors Divide? Wouldn't that ruin Azir for players?

Riot should just delete Yasuo, problem solved.
