Went 20/0/6 as Mid Malzahar. Got an A+.

It also factors in how well you're doing when compared to the community as a whole playing Malzahar Mid.

If I'm ganking lanes every 3 minutes and raking in as much gold as I would from 3-4 lanes, that shouldn't count against me. What an awful system considering mages aren't supposed to focus on farming as much as they are killing.

So my response to this would be: Mages' function is larger than just killing. And Kills are never as limited as waves of creeps. So you could have gone 0/0/0 for 35 minutes and then over the subsequent 5 minutes get 20 kills. But you can't have 10 cs for 35 minutes and then suddenly get 130 (since only 6-7 show up every 30 seconds). So CS you get over the course of the game is a more reliable demonstration of how well you manage your lane.

Besides, mages also split push very well, and they wave clear. Mages are synonymous to me with Wave Clear. For a mage that's 20/0, you barely cleared any waves.

It's entirely possible that because of the Yorick damage bug your damage was interpreted by the system as comparatively low, so you weren't given an S rank. Other than that possibility I would've assumed that you would get an S- or higher, unless farm is still the problem.
