Crystalline Flask and the unbearable number of potions allowed

Keep in mind that pots were limited to 5 at a time because of the ridiculous spamming in the first 20 seconds of the game before.

So, I just played a game against Jax top where he did golums backed, then teleported in with 5 health pots, 5 mana pots, and a crystalline flask. What the fuck? The whole point of limiting the max number of health pots to 5 was so we didn't have to deal with this kind of bs... Why doesn't the crystalline flask's pots count towards this limit?? The wards from the trinkets count towards the maximum 3 wards, and by that same logic so should these pots. I'm tired of seeing people go B and come back to lane with 13 pots after every back. It's not fair, it's not fun, and they just outsustain everything.

If your opponent is spending everything on potions early, that's still putting them at a net loss for gold. As long as you can bait their potions it's gold wasted.

Well at least he wasted a ton of gold on those 5 health and mana potions, thats 350 gold down the drain for him to buy all of those.

Thats irrelevant when because of those pots he can pressure me out of lane and free farm. Slowly after every trade, he will eventually push me out of lane and outfarm me. That means he gets his worth of gold after. It's a good and broken strategy currently.

So all in his ass with superior stats yo.

I don't think your punishing him enough if you don't make use of his time spent taking a jungle camp, Recalling, and then TP into lane. If you don't see Jax in lane, push the wave to the tower and deny him CS.

You may need to Adjust your champ pool, if your opponent stocks up on regen items to out sustain, and out trade, then you need actual kill pressure. Zoning him away from farm while waiting for his pots to restore him.

flask is less health per second then a pot... and you can't use either pot if you're using a flask. additionally, starting flask means you aren't taking an offensive item, or boots or cloth shirt, so you aren't as strong in combat, but you have better sustain. there are strategic decisions being made here... and there is strategic counter-play.

Take a champ like Riven who can beat the ever loving shit out of someone who dares to come to lane without actual combat stats at level 1/2 and kill him in two or three spell rotations off cooldown. Either he fights you and loses hard because you have stats on him and his potion spam only increases the regen time not the regen rate or he gets zoned from the wave everytime he has to wait to heal.

What you're describing is the same sort of play that happens literally anytime someone comes to lane with say a dorans blade vs cloth 5, only in your case they don't even have a cloth armor and they cant just flask and pots at the same time so its as if they came to lane with even less then cloth 5 as long as you call them on their cheese and force them to fight for every cs until they risk dying. Kill them using superior stats or force them to go b, then push to tower and go b yourself.

As long as you come to lane with a pot or two to pop during your all ins you effectively have the same bonus in combat regen as they do so they really can't fight you at all.

That's 845 gold (I think) to spend really early on, though.

Why do so many people have problem with sustain set ups?

people mad about cho passive, people mad about crystalline flask, etc.

Just be glad buying more than one flask doesn't help like picking up a second doran ring or blade can, or you'd never see a Nasus leave lane

245 gold flask never forget. It was funny though, nefing flask to 345 cost caused everyone to switch to 13 pots/9 pots 2 wards. Then that got nerfed and Akali Mordekaiser cried.

Why the heck you try to trade seeing his load of pots?
