Ban them. Or play MF since she has a big range powerful poke.

Both of them are super frustrating to play against, I feel your pain. Here's what I've found helpful against them so far:

#Caitlyn:

Trading: Against Caitlyn you want to trade for longer rather than shorter, because she has burst damage, but her DPS is bad.

Sustain: Getting early lifesteal or other forms of sustain (Doran's Shield) are super helpful because after she pokes you, you can heal it off. The keystone mastery that heals you on a charge system is good against her.

Dealing with Traps: Try to pay attention to when she leaves lane, as this is the best time to step on and clear all of her traps. If she is not leaving lane, you can ask your jungler to come and apply pressure and try to zone her away from you so you can clear the traps without getting hit.

Summoner Spells: Heal and Barrier are your best options, however which to choose mostly comes down to personal preference, here are the advantages and disadvantages of each:

  • Heal - Can save allies in addition to self, movement speed is good for juking skillshots, however this does not heal/block as much damage and it has a longer cooldown.
  • Barrier - Blocks more damage and has a shorter cooldown, but this only helps yourself to avoid damage and won't help if an ally is about to die.

#Draven:

Axes: A lot of playing vs Draven comes down to predicting his axes. You can use the same trick of harassing the enemy while they're CS'ing with Draven's Axes, if he goes to catch one he can't easily stop to auto-attack you, so you can get free harass off. This will help you to make up for the bonus damage his axes give him in trades.

You can tell what he intends to do after throwing an axe by which way he faces, because the axe goes the direction he is facing and moving when it bounces off something. Basically whichever way he moves after he attacks is the way the axe will go, and he's going to keep going that way to catch it usually. Use this to predict where he will be.

  • Not moving? It will land near him.
  • Moving towards you? It's going to land closer to you.
  • Moving backwards? It will land past him.

Counterpicks: It helps a lot to bring some form of ranged harass or CC to catch or poke him when he goes for Axes. For marksmen you want champions who are strong traders (such as Lucian), or strong pokers (like MissFortune or Varus). For supports you want to have hard cc (Alistar, Nami, Morgana or Taric) or strong poke (Brand, Zyra - also has cc, or Sona).

Trading: Try to poke or pick him every time he has to catch an axe, use the information above to predict where he will be and how he will act whenever he throws the axes. If you can punish him for going to the axes that is good, but it is even better if you can prevent him from going to them to catch them.

Items - Listed below:

  • Death's Dance: Oddly enough, the same item that makes Draven BS is the same item that will help against him. His axes allow him to chunk you for larger amounts of health, so if you buy Death's Dance you can delay some of that damage while also sustaining damage back.
  • Executioner's Calling: This item is a low-cost counter to his Death's Dance, it will prevent him from healing to mitigate the damage it converts to a DoT.
  • Bloodthirster: This item can be helpful if he's constantly pushing, because you will have ample time to continue auto-attacking to keep the overshield up. It will also help later in the game because he usually won't be able to start hitting you at the start of a teamfight, so you should have time to build up an overshield before focus shifts to you.
  • Knight's Vow: Your support can buy Knight's Vow to help even further reduce the chunk damage from his axes and give you more time to trade attacks with Draven.
  • Blade of the Ruined King: The movement speed slow on the active can be used to slow him when he is trying to maneuver to catch an axe.

For items against both of them as an ADC I would suggest starting Doran's shield instead of blade. The sustain it gives really helps during the first 10 minutes of the game.

Camp them, when a ADC gets behind the other ADC, camp them some more. Camp them till they are literally the most useless thing in the game.

Pick a disruptor support against Draven as stopping him picking up his axes disrupts his combo and lowers his damage.

Two I pick against Draven -Janna aoe knock up and targeted slow cripple him at all stages in the game shield on your carry gives them a burst of ad to trade with and can normally block most of the damage from one of his axes plus a massive heal

Vel'Koz - Poke and burst. A slow and a knock up as well as pretty high range abilities for a support and poke all of which Draven suffers against. And you have possibly one of the greatest burst combos in the game to shred him as Dravens can be tankier than some adc's at times and can lifesteal a ton

Full ap sona support. If Cait autos you sona does half her hp.

Sona q range is about as big as caits so if she goes to aa a minion or poke the ad she can chunk her easily

Added a Draven section to my comment about Caitlyn, let me know if you find it helpful or disagree, I'm happy to discuss / add to / alter it if it is reasonable to do so.

Questions I've asked myself as a support main lol

1 of 2 things will work:

  1. Lots of harass
  2. Lots of sustain
  • As a support you can't really control what your adc will or will not follow up with so in most cases, a sustain comp works best as it is the safer option Soraka Sona Nami

  • If your ADC looks like they will be able to follow up with you on harassment to make their lives miserable and get them behind quick, go for a poke-all in comp Karma Lulu Sona Brand Soraka (can really be a good lane bully if played well)

Those are in general. Other good options:

Morgana for Cait traps Braum since E can't be used to block a lot of dmg including Cait skill shot/ult TahmKench Thresh Zyra Velkoz can be good too

I completely forgot about Morgana :0 If i step on a trap with the spellshield on will she still be able to headshot me tho? or can she only do it if it roots me?

she can still headshot you but you can just run away :P I like to wait until I'm like borderline on the edge of her range to do so I can just pass over it without penalty
