New Maokai....Feels So Useless

I dunno if it is just me, but wow this guy feels weak.

His new Qs slow feels useless because of its duration, the older longer duration slow was significantly better, even if it didn't slow enemies down as much.

His old W felt far more impactful, probably because it granted more CC than the new one, which feels very lacking. The damage this ability does is also outright pathetic.

His new E just feels completely useless, and it seems that the minions summoned have significantly worse targeting capabilities than the old ones did. You practically have to be directly on top of these things before they will trigger, and the delay for when they trigger also seems much longer than before. It is like the AI for the saplings has become significantly dumber.

His ult....man...I don't think there could be a more disappointing thing in the game to use. It has an incredibly long cooldown, has incredibly poor CC, has really poor damage, is extremely easy to avoid. Frankly it is perhaps the most disappointing ultimate ability in the entire game, the only positive thing about it, is the vfx looks neat, but then again that almost makes it worse in a twisted way, because of how little impact the thing actually gives.

I mean, I guess you could try to use his ultimate as an area denial skill, but the impact it provides is just so abysmally small that it can generally be ignored in almost all cases. You cannot really use this as a followup to something, because it just takes way to long to travel anywhere and is far too easy to avoid. You cannot use this to engage with simply because of the travel time and also because of how avoidable the thing is.

His passive is about the only decent thing going for him, and even then that thing is fairly conditional, requiring you to actually get hit by enemy spells, instead of like before where it would simply gain another stack on its counter if an enemy cast a spell period.

It all just feels so useless.
