I am wondering what the placement formula is for provisionals. I started League last year and did S5 provisionals in like February of last year. I went 1-9 and didnt even carry the 1 and got bronze 4 deservedly. I didnt play much ranked in the season bht did manage to climb the Bronze 2. This season i went 7-3 and carried 3 of those wins. Yet i still got placed in Bronze 4. Im willing and able to climb, im just confused about how the placement works.
No one really knows for sure, but in your provisional s, they place you against people of higher ranks, and people of lower ranks to see how you match up. If you get matched up against Plats and get destroyed, they will match you against gold to see how you match up, than if you still get destroyed, they will match you with a rank a little less, until they come to a break even point where they can put your rank into an average, based on the games you won/lost against people of those ranks.
