Build path on Nashor's tooth sets the buyer up for failure

Let me be more specific. I think the biggest problem with nashors tooth is it is an item build by AP champions. The item itself offers many favorable stats, including a worthy amount of ATS and AP and CDR as well as a passive you might use. There are a select few champions that build this item and if most of them are observed one may notice that there is only one aspect of them that utilizes this ATS; they have a passive ability that does damage with auto attacks and the player is seeking to enhance that ability by geting nashor's tooth. however, it is only this one ability that scales with ATS, besides this they actually may have good AP scaling with the rest of their abilities. which leads us to the problem.

If the player chooses to buy nashor's tooth, they can choose to buy the fiendish codex if they would like to increase the damage of all their abilities OR they could buy stinger which will increase the effectiveness of only their auto attack based passive. So lets say that both players in mid lane recall with 1250 gold. One of them will getitem 1058 for an impressive 60 AP OR if they are building Morello's, which I believe has a wonderful build path, they might get item 3108 and item 1052 OR item 3802 and item 1052 while the other can get either thisitem 3101 or a combination of item 3108 anditem 1042 . In conclusion, the player who doesn't build the nashor's tooth will always have more ability power sooner.

Perhaps it should be stinger + fiendish codex + amp tome

stinger + blasting wand + amp tomb

Recurve bow + fiendish codex + amp tomb

please be encouraged to share your opinions below. please be logical : D

  1. Those who get it mainly for the CDR attack speed and On-hit damage Azir Teemo Kayle Lulu

But they can't make it too powerful by adding more AP... it will outclass a lot of other items..

You have to remember build paths are NOT just willy nilly.. The items that build into the item are where the item get's the stats from.

item 3101 - Attack speed and CDR item 3108 - CDR and AP.

item 3115 - gives Attack speed, 20% CDR (10% from both items) and AP.. quite a lot of AP for just a Codex being built into it..

item 3165 is more good for mages who don't use their Auto attacks.

Actually, if you're playing an AP marksman.. and they're buildingitem 3165

You might actually benefit more from building item 3091

40 Magic damage on-hit. it's cheap, it steals their defence and gives it to you, and attack speed for the AP marksman..

#it's worth a try at least...

if anything I think they need to have an ap version of item 3101 where it builds from item 1052 item 1042 and when you build it you get part of the on hit ap damage that item 3115 gives so you have some benefit of applying ap on your on hit with just item 3101 as you get enough gold to upgrade to item 3115 like maybe 5 ap on hit +5% ap with the ap version of item 3101

so new build path would be item 1052 + item 1042 into item 3101 then item 1052 into item 3108 and combined you get item 3115 and you don't have to change any stats on item 3115

Indeed, Nashor's needs to have a better build path. That would open it up to a lot more champions as a good alternative to morellonomicon.

The item has 80 AP. The components grant 30. I don't think any other item in the game has this much disparity in completed vs almost completed. Use some of that 1000 combine cost to add a blasting wand, or at least an amp tome.
