tl;dr: Heimerdinger got hit a little too hard with Rylais in a Diamond players opinion. Supporting statements to back it up. Pls halp. Lelu Dallas Multipass.

Hello Meddler. You may or may not know me. I made a guide over on mobafire - www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/-469381 back in July when I was up to D3 promo's with an 80% win rate over 150~ games with Heimerdinger. I dropped to D5 after doubling the games of Heimer (289 games in S6 total) and finished with a 61% win rate with top Heimerdinger. Smurf in Platinum 69 games of heimer with a 70% win rate. I was arguably the best Heimerdinger at one point (not including the rank of other players but just win rates in D5+ with over 100 Heimer games+, no one was close.)

The build which I championed (Rylais -> Liandry -> Morello) had the best win rate. (The problem with ZZ'Rot + Banner was you did no damage and if your team got behind you weren't winning, it also had a 47% win rate I believe? and mine with other D+ players using it was 57%~).

While I agree that Heimerdinger's win rate was quite high, that was by one tricks mainly. With any champion a one trick usually has a lot higher of a win rate .

Now all of that being said, I feel that Rylai's nerf hit him a little too hard. I played 5 of my first 6 placement matchs as Heimerdinger: Heimer vs GP Top Heimer vs Morg sup (Jungle Troll/ADC couldn't dodge a bind) Heimer vs Brand Top (Jungle feeding) Heimer vs Swain top (Team threw I was 2 of 38 deaths) Heimer vs Nasus AP E max Top (Wave clears turrets too easy team grouping in tight spots and I couldn't turn with Ult Grenade)

I've played all these matchs in my games before (across this account and my smurf) The only game I won was vs the GP, due to my full AP eve (who is now D3) jungle went off.

The other games I felt the loss of the AP/Slow from Rylais way too keenly. It honestly felt like they just walked through my turrets no problem. The team got behind and there wasn't anything I could do to recover the games. Normally the game would be over at 2 or 3 items for me. I would almost ALWAYS win lane. Now I'm struggling to hard. I haven't played Heimerdinger in my games since those placement games. (Other than flex when I was experimenting).

Right now the Rylais build which had the best win rate now feels as bad as a ZZ'Rot/Banner Rush. If you team loses there is nothing you can do. The only thing I felt was viable was skipping Rylai's and playing him full ap Mid Lane (Where he has tons of horrible match-ups).

I saw in your post nothing about Heimerdinger. Can we discuss this?

Follow Up: I know it's early on and I'll be fleshing out different builds/different purchase times with Rylais and get more idea but that's the initial impression.
