And made me think, is there anything that stops a Riven tank from working? 2 AoE CC on fairly short CD, a typical Cleaver tank at max CDR could work perhaps? Of course no more 1 shotting, but I think dashing around and stunning people might be pretty useful.

riven tank has not got a good enough way to get all that CC to the enemy. compared to, like, Sejuani.

Tanky, you have damage, you can lay down your CC, and you can chase.
Lee sin support is actually quite similar.
You do need

ScreamPaste1 votesCCs too short, combined they're less than a second, her base stats are too shit for her to have any legitimate threat beyond said CCs if she goes tank, and since her kit works around her Q she's insanely easy to peel.
So she can't disrupt, do damage, or peel effectively with a tank cleaver build.
Need Gold 4 Tent1 votesWell, with short CDs she can actually disrupt a fair bit (by reapplying the CC rather than having a single long one). I know for sure her cooldowns are very short on 45% when I duel her, and if she's tanky, she will be more likely to survive to go for another round of cc.
That being said, I don't know much of her base stats so I can't say for sure. I've never seen one though. In fact, doesn't have to be support, what if a top lane Riven goes stupidly tanky using CS/kill gold?
