Seriously, don't be that new player.

I just had an Irelia that literally first timed her in ranked. Fucking, FIRST TIMED. By first timed I absolutely mean her first time in her whole account that she's played her. The result? 4/10/1. Hypocritical too, because in the beginning of our game she said "Yasuo i had an 0/4 and an 0/5 last game, can you do better?" It would've been fine if she was just using a champ that she was experienced with and still got 4/10/1, everyone has bad games, but honestly, don't be that one fucking dude who decides to first time a champ in ranked after it gets reworked/released and getting your team to pay the costs. I would love, so much, to ban Irelia, but I'll just get reported for banning another person's champ so I don't. She was gold 5 too, and even a silver 1 can have more common sense than a fucking GOLD 5. Seriously, Riot, do something about this.

"For players whose primary way to engage in League is through ranked (and that’s a lot of players) a week can feel like a long time, especially since the champion will have been on the PBE before that.

However, we sympathize with the basic problem you’re hinting at, of someone going into ranked with a champion they have never played before, and having your team possibly pay the price. While we think the new Practice Mode will help some with this problem, we also have discussed requiring you to play with the champion – even if it’s as little as one game – before you take him or her into ranked. No concrete plans at the moment, but it’s something we’ll keep on our radar."

So, were you just lying about keeping it on your radar? Because you sure as hell need to do something about it.

You are allowed to ban any champion for any reason.

Bans have priority over picks.

False reports don't do anything. So being reported for something that is allowed won't hurt you.

I first timed Irelia in ranked and won my promos to Dia 3.

I've yet to play Irelia on my live account, but have played probably 50 games on the PBE, so I should be forbidden from playing her apparently.

Again this is one of my least favorite bandwagons. There are people who are just good at looking at a champions base kit and knowing how to play them. I played a very small bit of Irelia on pbe and just first timed her in ranked the other day and it went fine. There are people (Like me) who all we do is just play ranked so having a champ banned by Riot for that time would just feel bad.

Also it doesn't take champion knowledge to know the basics of a lane. I'm a toplane main so I know how toplane works. It doesn't matter what champion I play knowing the basics of the lane will always take priority over specific champion mechanics.

Yeah i almost had someone first time her toplane in solo q(i checked his opgg, no games w/ her at all since the patch and no games w/ her before at least as far as it went back). Thankfully some hero dodged that Q
