He does NOT need it. He's been just fine for a very long time. His "abysmal" winrate is due to trolls and people that don't understand how to play him properly (basically more Devour problems).
He already has good CC, a good ult, good poke, tank, hp regen, AND DOES 32% OF MAX HP IN MAGIC DMG.
AtheosisX13 votesThe QoL change was needed. Otherwise I'd agree with you. He's one of my favorite champs presently, and he's one of the few supports who can actually when 1v1 duels which is kind of sweet. He's not on par with the top tanky supports imo but he is fairly strong all the same.

It's not quite as clear as Riot's "my numbers are higher than yours" themed champs because of how much of his power comes from utility, but really, when it comes down to it, he could stand a few buffs. Riot sort of deleted some viable build paths for him with this last patch, and his power seems to come from strange places in small amounts. But the sheer, flat-faced power on his W damage and E shield can make you think otherwise if a good Tahm shows you their good side.

Not at all. His main armor item got a slight itty bitty nerf for 10 defense (FH). But overall it's not that bad. Plus in solo lane or jungle you'd rush Sunfire.

At the least I'd like to be able to use Devour right after using his ult because I've failed to save someone so many times because of that three second cooldown.
But I agree that he's pretty balanced and strong when you can use him right. It's just that he doesn't have the flashiness a lot of other supports have so it's not as obvious when he does something cool (outside of clutch W saves).

A lot of his kit has not been effective at its intended role, and as such they are buffing him, not necessarily in his damage output, but in his utility. Lets look at his ultimate for example: Prior to the buff, it gave the enemy WAY too much warning before he even arrived. Now it is a little harder to simply walk away from his appearance. The tiny tiny stun they added to his W was to prevent champions like Riven from avoiding ALL of the damage by dashing just before the damage ticks. These changes are almost QoL changes more than straight buffs.

And his ulti pretty much only provides utility. Yah it gives a small attack passive but it's nothing too strong. More balanced than kalista(still), ekko on release, kha on release, probably one of the more balanced champs on release other than maybe bard.

I don't want him to be an LCS mainstay, he'll just be gutted and nerfed over and over again just like every other champion that even touches it, then left in the gutter for years.
If they're gonna buff him at all, they should target the minion eating part of his W to improve his teamfighting, maybe lower its CD when used that way, and make it so his W priority is Enemy Champion > Ally Champion > Minion, because I'm tired of getting 3 stacks on an enemy, then eating my tank. If I get 3 stacks on someone that means I want to eat them, damnit.

I'm never able to find out when I'm allowed to leave Tahm's stomach. I usually get pulled to the enemy team, shot a little bit away and die.
