Would league lose its spark if things were actually balanced?

Liek dota 2, its balanced sure, butttttttttt its boring to sit and play a game of dota just to end up losing it. There isn't ridiculous damage early mid and late. Would league be a worst game if defense and offense were properly balanced along with mobility and utility?

I do not believe so. It would be nigh-impossible to 100% balance any game. But making some kind of actual attempt rather than randomly generating numbers and inconsistent buffs/nerfs based on... however they come up with this stuff (clearly not from playtesting)? That would be beneficial to the game, not detrimental. The problem with a severely unbalanced game is that over time, it drives people away. Also, it makes for very toxic environments. Getting completely owned by a champion that is extremely op, has no counterplay and is just harmful to the game is not good for the game in any way. Especially when you used your ban on a counter pick or on another of those types of champions.

maybe something to think on in the future would be a double ban system?

no other moba does anything like that. and as far as I know league still has the most playable characters in its game, so we might be overdue for some kind of upgrade to the champion ban system

10 champions out of 140+ is less than 10%. granted not every champion is viable (or playable) in every meta, but that changes at the drop of a hat

Maybe that would help. But that would be 10 per side as well. That could drastically reduce the fun in a game as well. :/

true, but 20 champion ban out of 140+ is better than 10 champion ban out of 140+

League lost it's spark when they started shitting out reworks.

The problem is when it stagnates.

League is always turning over. The class that's meta changes year to year, keeping things from becoming bland and boring.

Has less to do with "balance" and more to do with turnover.

Is this turnover static or based on previous metas?

I mean. Every meta has been had at least once before. And generally the meta shifts away from the previous one pretty drastically.

I mean its fundementally impossible to fully balance league. When one thing gets toned down, others get systematically buffed. This applies to runes, summoner spells, items, and of course, champions.
