And this why people hate yasuo (or rather one of the many).

So is Azir. But Azir lacks half the "get out of jail free" cards that Yasuo packs.

Ironically I got down-voted to hell for practically saying, he's harder to use than people think. Maybe it was just me. My bad either way.

You said it on a comment talking about why people hate Yasuo.

A champion can be mechanically difficult and still be a toxic piece of shit to play against. Zoe is an excellent example. Ironically both champions made by the same developer.

Go figure.

I see now, thank you.

This was bc he casted it when the hook should hitt him. The wall starts "in" him a get bigger in the direction he sands the wall. It's tottaly stupid in my opinion, but it works that way. If you time the wall good enough you can block everything no matter the direction you send the wall.

D357R0Y3R8 votes

Yes

people have a hard time understanding that the wall is created on top of Yasuo and then moves forward

Percentages41 votes

Doesn't mean it's not retarded...

D357R0Y3R3 votes

idk if it's retarded or not, but the tooltip says "moving windwall" riot intended it to behave like that

if they changed it to a static windwall, Yasuo would become good against melee champions, because he can just use it in melee range and win in melee range

Percentages30 votes

He already is good against melee champions? Not sure what you're trying to say? The guy dominates every single other champion in a 1v1 setting...

Darius.

lol you're delusional

Yas's lowest winrates top: Malz, Hec, Renekton, Jax, Camille, Poppy, Kayle, Rengar, Kennen, Kled

Yas's lowest winrates mid: Kled, Wukong, Annie, Cass, Malz Karth, Anivia, Swain Vlad

7 out of his 10 worst top matchups are melee. Every single one of these champions other than Malz and Kayle have higher lane kill rates than him. That's beating him 1v1. His top 2 worst mid matchups are melee. Kled has a higher lane kill rate than him. That's 1v1.

Verxint5 votes

I hate Yas as much as anyone else but as someone who plays mostly melee bruisers and fighters, most of them dumpster Yasuo in the lane with sheer brute force

Schenix3 votes

Yasuos base stats are all wildly inferior to any other fighter, he has to make up for it through actual playmaking and not being stat checked. An incredibly frustrating champion is all he is when ahead or when given lane pressure because his downtime on dps to apply those stats are very low, making it effective when they have any substance behind them.

AirKingNeo2 votes

What? Yasuo is thrashed melee champions, which is why he isn't played in the top lane.

Stop spreading misinformation.

Weiss Guertena9 votes

Against what melee champions? Darius, Wukong, Camille, Jax, Renekton and many other don't give a flying fuck about windwall because nothing they do has them shooting projectiles.

Also, Braum's tooltip is very similiar to Yasuo's. Both mention "raising a barrier in the target direction" and "intercepting projectiles that hit it". And yet when you whack Braum from behind his shield means nothing.

This is just another retarded safety net which allows Yasuo to completely miss a skill and still reap its full benefits. How many other skillshots (as abilities that miss when fired in the wrong direction) you can name that you can cast in a completely opposite direction than one in which your target is and still benefit from its effects in the fullest?

abca9839 votes

Bro it needs that hitbox because he is a high risk-high reward champion. Without this forgiving mechanic Yasuo players would struggle to play the game.

Tegash17 votes

(I realize you're being sarcastic, but I needed to rant.)

"High risk" can poke through minions with a 2-second ability that cools down with both cooldown reduction AND attack speed

"High risk" gets a free shield with 25 more health than most rank-1 shields in the game and almost DOUBLE the health of most rank-5 shields, oh, and he gets this shield for WALKING

"High risk" ult that automagically places him outside of turret radius if he dives with it and he's ANYWHERE near the edge, not to mention also INSTANTLY granting him that lovely 510 health shield

"High risk" 50% bonus armor pen on crit that he gets, for free, by ulting

"High risk" 2x crit chance, for FREE

"High risk" mobility that punishes you for being near your own goddamn minions

Yasuo might have a high skill ceiling in order to play him effectively but do NOT say he is high risk. His entire kit babies him to the point of absurdity.

(Q) cools down with both cooldown reduction AND attack speed

Since when? I thought it was just AS

Akaśhí3 votes
  1. The Q is not 2 seconds, It is 4 seconds plus that It's cooldown is reduced only by attack speed and nothing else.
  2. free shield for walking, 510 hp shield, tell me a champion whose shield is like Yasuo's just an auto attack and there is no shield...
  3. I don't think you would like your champion to be trapped for 1 second under enemy turret that hits you while you are trapped with the enemy in the air too + it is not always getting you out of range it gets you out of turret range if you are near the edges and it can be annoying for the yasuo too for example if you hit someone with nado while they are in front of their fountain the ult will automatically get you in fountain range.
  4. 2x crit chance, now you can get the 2x crit chance with Infinity Edge and unlike Yasuo your auto attacks and q will not do 15%-20% reduced damage like Yasuo does.
  5. the same dashes that deal nearly 0 damage and most of the time take minion and turret aggro for using it near turret on top of that it is maybe the hardest ability to master.
Leto GT2 votes

Tell me why the game doesn't put me out of turret range when l ult as malzahar - 2,5 seconds?

Malzahar shield is gone with one auto and the passive doesn't even last long enough to absorb a comet.

Super hard to e on a melee minion, e on a caster then eq on the enemy and take off 50% of his hp, if not kill him only to dash back to your minions while having a broken shied up (x2 if ult) . clap clap

Broken champ with a skill floor as low as zed. He's not barely the hardest champ to play. All his kit has built-in 3rd wheels.

AirKingNeo1 votes

"High risk" can poke through minions with a 2-second ability that cools down with both cooldown reduction AND attack speed

Why are you in melee range of Yasuo and not minding his Q poke (even though Yasuo is weak in melee range)?

Also, IT'S A 4 SECOND COOLDOWN.

gets a free shield with 25 more health than most rank-1 shields in the game and almost DOUBLE the health of most rank-5 shields, oh, and he gets this shield for WALKING

because it isn't activatable and it also lasts a short duration.

2x crit chance, for FREE

No? His critical damage is reduced.

Tegash2 votes
  1. Yasuo's q is not melee range. It has about the same range as Rakan's AA, which is just past melee range. Having a thin hitbox doesn't much matter.

As for the cooldown, it's not punitive because the ability doesn't cost anything.

  1. I could list a dozen champs with passive abilities that aren't on a single button press that people constantly call no skill and brainless, your point? And though it isn't activateable, it triggers on any damage. If you're a burst, that's 510 damage gone. That's an entire ability hit, WITH Luden's, for most mages.

  2. Yeah, so is Jhin's. It doesn't matter.

It's a skillshot and can be dodged.

Kled's W being a forced activation is why Kled sucks.

Yeah, so is Jhin's. It doesn't matter.

yeah just ignore a massive drawback, that's how you'll prove a point.

Tegash2 votes

Oh, but suddenly it interacts with his targeted 0.1 second E and becomes a nearly undodgeable aoe. And then he can just E away, punishing you for being behind your own minions.

Jhin's W is also a skillshot that can be dodged, and it has the exact same width on its hitbox.

Nobody complains about Blitz's Mana Barrier or Anivia's Egg. Hell, people don't even complain about Voli's healing passive, they just complain about his damage when he's popular.

There are at least 12 NERF JHIN threads up right now. His crit reduction is MORE than Yasuo's, he needs to buy MORE items to hit his power spike, and people are STILL screaming for nerfs despite him being a more skill-intensive marksman than say, MF or Caitlyn. Your point literally doesn't matter because it's not a drawback when he gets free double crit, quadruple crit with IE, and hits his midgame powerspike at 2 items. That can happen at 18 minutes if he's ahead, and suddenly nobody can fight him anymore.

And never mind Conqueror, he's been able to do this since release.

Never mind viability in pro play, never mind theoretical weaknesses, for 90% of the playerbase he is a PROBLEM and needs fixes or a rework!

AirKingNeo1 votes

What does that have to do with his Q1 and Q2?

Nobody complains about Blitz's Mana Barrier or Anivia's Egg. Hell, people don't even complain about Voli's healing passive, they just complain about his damage when he's popular.

Because those are actual passives with trigger requirements that go off WHEN YOU WANT THEM. Kled's W is literally "if you're gonna last hit with autos, you lose your ability to fight the opponent".

What does skill have to do with any of this? Champions shouldn't be broken because of skill. Jhin is actually broken right now running at 600 ms while Yasuo is sitting at a slightly below average spot.

Never mind viability in pro play, never mind theoretical weaknesses, for 90% of the playerbase he is a PROBLEM and needs fixes or a rework!

Why should we ignore viability at the highest levels of play? Why should we call his actual weaknesses "theoretical" when he's not even a meta contender right now? Why should anyone taking game design seriously care about the opinions of 90% of the playerbase who don't understand the game at a competitive level when said game designer is trying to make his game competitive?

Ashryver Queen 13 votes

Yasuo's windwall is arguably the most cancerous ability in this game. It doesn't even require any skill to make you want to commit Seppuku.

SugeMinPikk1 votes

I see you didn't play League of legends before Fiora was reworked

Ashryver Queen 6 votes

If only the word "IS" was in the present tense.

deadlychuck1 votes

Actually, if I recall, for a good while before the rework Fiora was considered trash tier.

SugeMinPikk2 votes

She was definitely trash tier. It was impossible to get out of lane without feeding. But if she did

wew

Terozu1 votes

Well, there was that one time she was god teir. Because, y'know, her Q casted her ult instead but on like a 5 second cooldown.

Leto GT1 votes

Thrash tier? I remember her 1vs5 if fed and this ultimate that was honestly fun. Bing bing bing.

yay nibbers1 votes

Fun for the person playing Fiora maybe. That ult was beyond annoying for everyone else though. So totally fun having her become untargetable for several seconds while she dances around you and/or your team doing a ton of damage and life stealing off it all.

Leto GT1 votes

ikr. That was a nice effect tho. The invulnerable effect got transfered somehow in her W. Strong champ imo.

Thefrostyviking10 votes

His windwall spawns it inside him before it really appears so he can actually block skillshots comming from behind when casting forward if he is masterful.

Have had it happen to my skillshots when dealing with several of them x)

HalcyonDweller13 votes

Masterful is one word for it.

I'd use lucky and skill-less though. It's way too damn forgiving for the yasuo player.

Chillee4 votes

The skill of a Yasuo player is more dependent on dashing than anything else, his windwall is pretty much the equivalent of a spell shield. Since it spawns FROM Yasuo he can cast it anytime before it the spell hits him and it will still cancel it. But unlike most spell shields, Yasuo's wind wall can block MULTIPLE skill shots, get wider the more you upgrade it, and costs no mana. If they got a normal reaction time, they can block a spell :^)

Dope Solo9 votes

Yasuo in general, and windwall in particular is a completely degenerate mechanic that lowers the overall quality of league.

FixHealsRemoveGW1 votes

I agree with "degenerates" and lower the "quality of league", but not with the rest.

BlackEyesBlue7 votes

Reminder that Zoe is already getting a minor rework and Yas isn't even on the road map.

Note: This rework really WILL turn her into a ranged one shot machine...

MOOODDY5 votes

Why don't they change that so his own teams projectiles can't go through as well ?

3TWarrior5 votes

because then they would have to admit that it is a frustrating ability and he would jump from an enormous play rate to far less

CloudedLogic1 votes

I don't think he would lose that many fan boys XD

3TWarrior1 votes

well, considering his ban rate would spike again by becoming a liability to his own team...when it's already pretty high

and unfortunately, they do not want to nerf him in any way, even for fairness to his opponents, because he has to be kept weak to not cause problems, such as how he did at the introduction of mastery keystones

I also implied it would hurt profits XD

KFCeytron4 votes

Yeah, look how broken that wall is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56FGCPUPeYE

Bob the Toastr20 votes

Yeah, except that's probably a bug. They should just remove the ability since it's so buggy XD

PowerSlave9934 votes

It's because Windwall starts within Yasuo, within his body. So that's why it was blocked.

GettemClone4 votes

how about make yasuo's wall like irelia's W ..

cant move while casting it
