Elo hell?

Coming from someone who is still one of em unranked scrubs tho been lvl30 for some time now

I heard there exists an elo hell where everyone(coincidentally on your team more often than not) is bad and holds your supposed better-than-faker-tier butt back. Is this not the case? If the typical "everyone is feeding" situation happens but you are "meh" is there anything you could have done about it and was are you to blame? I am definitely not elite carry hard guy, I only do well when everyone kinda on equal grounds(no ones smurfing, snowballing, fat) but is it expected of me to make miracles happen frequent to climb up tiers? Now from previous readings, everyone seems kinda against the existence of elo hell This kinda daunts me from going ranked, rather continue spamming casual normal games, where yes people still suck but they dont hinder my anything

The horror stories are probably why I'm still Cardboard.

That and I've been told that I'll probably have a pretty hard time in Ranked YoloQ unless I can consistently carry games, and I'm one of those scrubs who can only drag their own weight so I tend to be pretty reliant on the overall competency of the team.

holy hell that sounds just like me but said in a better way

Well there's always room in the club.

It's why games can be frustrating sometimes because most days even if you carry your own weight it isn't good enough. If you want to climb the ladder, you apparently need to learn to pick up everyone else's slack.

And I main support so it gets to me sometimes because if my ADC is genuinely sub-par, it's my fault if they don't get fed. So I rely on decent adc's so we both drag our weight. And at the end of the day, if the adc drags their weight they've carried the team, whereas if I can't carry a moron in my lane I'm pretty much a shitty support who 'should uninstall and go die in a ditch'.

It's not really that Elo Hell exists as much as Bronze and Silver have way too large of tiers. People get stuck "between" divisions, where they keep going to promos and lose, finally win, get demoted, and do it all over again. The skill range in these tiers is just way too large, and that's very frustrating for some. It's the main reason why I think we should just go back to the Elo system.

Well that doesnt make things anymore reassuring I heard there was a grace period after promos and im likely to lose all that too? AND get demoted ;l

I havent been around long enough to know of how this system works and how it has changed but I take it that it sucks now

The prevailing wisdom is that if you can't carry, you're in a league where you belong. Statistically, every player is all but guaranteed to eventually get a rager, troll or AFK (or just a bad player) and those are generally more common in the lower tiers, just because they're frustrated with their rank, or they really just don't care.

If you're worried about just getting trolls and never being able to climb, don't be, because if you really deserve a higher rank, the RNG will work out in your favor eventually. Either way, in my opinion, besides trying to get end of season rewards, there's no point to playing ranked unless you're really trying to go pro or become a popular streamer, and you're better off just playing normals with friends. That said, I'm a silver iv noob, so I might just be talking out of my rear end.

Cheers, mate.

Well thats brutal, I can't think of any way for me to carry games unless im playing the adc

top tanks/jungle tanks dont tank very well in losing situations ;c

But I suppose its not unreasonable to think I need the skills of a silver to carry bronze games and deserve to eventually be in silver

I made the mistake of going straight into ranked once I hit level 30 last season. This season I was stuck in Bronze and did little to nothing to get out until recently. In my personal experience of being a Bronze scrub, yes, some times your team is to blame, but you also have to think what you did wrong and how you could of helped your team more, sometimes you just play poorly that round. I just recently got out of Bronze and am now Silver 5. It just took a lot of motivation and being a try hard to get out of the so called Bronze-Hell.

Honestly, I think people say Bronze is elo-hell because they have the mindset of "I'm already in Bronze, can't get much worse. So why even try, just play and if I die at 5 minutes say GG." Which I had that mindset, where why even try because I'm bronze trash. But once I set my mind to getting out, it was actually fairly simple. I soloqued about 85% of the time and it really wasn't to terrible.

Any role can carry. Top - get ahead shove towers = force their jung to come = less pressure on your team. Can also run a high damage bruiser to smash them if you get fed Jung - can get fed and force objectives = win any lane Mid - a carry already, get ahead help other lanes ADC - just damage and needs to get fed to carry late game Supp - carries the ADC & huge playmaker. Initiates to feed kills, utility to win teamfights

If all you do is NOT lose lane but not crush it, you arent adding value to the team to win. Not losing isnt the same as winning.

Elo hell doesnt exist.

Go play ranked, you will get placed where you belong and will eventually climb out. Last season I was bronze 5. I climbed to silver 2 and then the season ended. I played my placements and got placed in bronze 3. Now im plat 5. You will end up where you belong.

Gl in ranked and may the solo q gods be with you
