Party IP Bonus will ruin the Solo Queue

Going against premades as a solo queue was already frequent enough, but now it's like every game I see full 5-man premade groups. If Lyte says smurfs ruins new player experiences, it is logical to say that similarly, giving a bonus to premades will encourage more premades, and ruin solo queue experiences. I predict a massive exodus of players, largely solo queue, out of sheer frustration due to being matched up against full premades. As I said many times throughout the years: Stop. Matching. Premades. With. Solo. If you didn't get the message back then, maybe you'll get it now Riot, when you start to see solo queue people quitting League because of this. If a party is fully premade, they should be matched against other full premades. Otherwise, you have a full group of people who know each other, work together efficiently, and may even be on Skype for faster response, and you honestly, truly, expect a group of random solo q'ers to happily play against that? Riot, please, enough of the monkey business, wake up. Garen

When you say Solo Que you mean normals? If that is what you mean then get over yourself. Normals if for the casuals and you do realize Riot makes changes based on the competitive side of the game not the casual side right. Its literally normals where you can play ap jinx and win games. This will have no affect on Normals at all.

Now ranked Solo Que i can see atleast 2 duos per team which will probably make the game harder and more competitive which will actually make solo que more fun.

You may be a little premature there man. They are only testing this out for 2 weeks, and they are not changing the way they try to match people up. The system still tries to find teams around similar mmr's, and still tries to match up pre-mades with other pre-mades. Will players entering normals be used as fillers sometimes when the timer starts going up, yeah. That is the point of normals, to get into a match quickly and with relative skill levels. But speed is one of the biggest factors in normals. This is why if you play at "off peak" hours, like 3 a.m., you are more likely to have unbalanced teams (in regards to MMR and pre-made status).

If anything this will hopefully add more pre-made teams in all queue's, allowing them to more easily match pre-mades with pre-mades. Alleviating the problems you have with normals.

I don't think you know what solo que means.

You can't have full premade teams in solo q.....

You can only have one duo per team. I have no idea what you are freaking out about.

Or you could get some friends and jump into premade queue yourself.

I mean, I would feel sympathy for you, but this is literally as easy as tossing invites to all the people you didn't hate in your last normal and partying up with whoever joins.

Most of the time when I am with a party it seems the other team has at least a duo. It's been my impression for a long time that it doesn't force full premades to fight others, but it does prioritize them.

  1. As someone who regularly plays with large groups of friends, I can tell you that the system already does a good job matching 5 man premades against 5 man premades.

  2. The IP bonus is trivial unless you get the jackpot. I think the highest I've seen so far is 4 IP with a 4 man group. People will flock to premades for a while, then continue doing what they find most comfortable and fun.

IP bonus is a two-week-test. Just wait 2 weeks, see the results, and then post. If it ends up being that bad, they will just forget it.

I support separating solo queue players from premades, but I do think the party IP bonus could be a boon to the game's overall health. Playing with people that are queued up with you decreases everyone's inclination to be toxic, and playing with people that you actually know/like makes the game much more fun.

I hope Riot keeps the IP bonus after the 2-week trial. It might eat at their RP sales very slightly, at first, but it should draw (and keep) more players in, overall.
