...similar to banshees.

What reasons are there not to implement one?

You want Pantheon's passive to be an item?

Yes, as an item which would be expensive enough to only warrant its purchase as a counter item. Probably third or fourth buy.

Would the game implode if they implemented something like that? Please, share your thoughts.

That would probably make it worthless.

Defense is a reactionary purchase, making it that expensive would reduce the ability to purchase it, in response to a run away Auto attacker.

The real trick for making niche items is making them gold/slot inefficient. A niche item still needs a low enough price to be a reactionary pick up, but making it less efficient means impacting the final build.

Ehhhhhh.

That's waaaay too strong an effect for an item. It'll either be OP or dumpster tier.

We have ADC counters. item 3143 item 3075 item 3110

They aren't really the issue, the issue is Enchanters + Life Steal making ADCs unkillable.

Just play Jax.

Because that would completely invalidate any auto attackers and make them pointless to play...?

But item 3155 item 3156 are ok because.......?

All those do are give you a situational shield that mitigates some magic damage, it doesn't completely and outright negate it

If there was an item that completely blocked auto-attacks it would literally make it pointless to play any auto attack based champions because everyone would buy that item and take them out of the game and that isn't fair or a good concept at all.

You're assuming the item in question would block every single auto attack ever. What if it just blocked a certain number of auto attacks before the effect faded? For example, Banshee's Veil blocks one spell. This new item could block 3 auto attacks before it wore off and went on cooldown. Obviously if it permanently blocked auto attacks it would be busted, but blocking the first few used against you would put it on par with Maw when it comes to dealing with auto damage.

Maybe because poor Jax and Pantheon would lose their unique identities. =(

From what I was thinking is more of a item which acts like a wind wall where it's a skill shot shield that blocks projectiles. Cooldown 60 seconds and last 2 seconds.
