Aatrox players, what do you want?

Ok, Aatrox's gameplay and his lore are at odds.

His gameplay would have you believe that he is a blood-drinking warlord, with his heavy focus on lifesteal.

His lore would have you believe that he is a commander, inspiring his troops with a call to action, and leading them to victory; no matter what atrocities they must commit.

So, which one of these fantasies appeals to you more?

His lore have you believe that he is getting power from feelings (despair, angst, hate, greed and lust) rather than blood. He is not a commander, he is simply a mercenary that goes to a group filled with despair, makes them hate their enemy and then helps them transform that hate into power. Then on the battle field he feeds of the enemy's despair as they begin to lose vs someone they think they would otherwise defeat.

Aatrox is not an inspiring commander. He is a demon feeding of negative emotions. As feeding of emotions is not present in game, they made him feed of blood to be as close related as possible.

That's it. So, they (gameplay and role) are sort of related to each other. Not as far away as you make it seem

Make him scale off of how much my own team is flaming me for playing Aatrox!

I personally think he rather fills people with rage actually but it depends on a person's point of view.

rage is another negative emotion, just like anger and probably some more

A relentless fighter who keeps fighting and fighting, inspiring those around him to fight the longer he stays in the fight himself.

In team fights or duels you want to stay away from him, however he will be vulnerable if caught out solo vs multiple enemies.

Life steal increases the longer he stays in a fight, meaning counterplay in disengage and peeling.

Dealing damage heals allies around him for a small amount (one of his abilities).

Remove his HP costs for Q/E/R

Just a few ideas

the 2nd one...dive in hard and inspire everyone to follow you.

I used to be an aatrox main and I'd say the second option. Lifesteal warlord just isn't something that his helathy in general.

And it doesn't fit his theme.

His lore sounds like Kled's entire shtick. I'm no Aatrox player (Though I would be if he was more exciting.), but his lore sounds a lot more fun.

Aatorx comes in and helps the loseing side by ripping though his enemies and the people he helps become frenzied and they blank out in blood lust. His lore and gameplay fantasy fit each other well. when you dive the enemy team it makes your allies feel more confiedent knowing that their they target Aatrox and die from them or they target them and die from Aatrox. Aatrox need a new E though if not a new Q or his q needs to be changed so it functions more reliably that thing takes away 10% of your current health for a half assed slow dash

Idea of blood-bathed support igniting fury and bloodlust in hearths of his allies and fear in his enemies sounds amazing... but im not Aatrox main.

how is he a support?. hes supposed to be a fighter in his lore. i mean. he supports his allies. but not in the support mechanics league of legends work .he supports them spiritually

Sherogarth2 votes

Yeah because they are supports in thier lore too: Nautilus / Sion / Trundle / Thresh / Zyra ... Aatrox Aatrox lore at last mentions something about supporting xD.

Also i think that he should stay this drain tank/diver or whatever he's supposed to be but at the same time support like this would be really unique.

A bit more base damage on E and AD scalings on Ult would be enough for me

You should have added a poll ;)

I meant to do that, but I forgot.

Unfortunately, you can't add polls with "edit".

Host it on a 3rd party, and add the link in the OP.

I don't know, I used to want more teamfighting capabilities but the more I play Aatrox, the more I remember I LOVE the duelist side to him. When I think about it, I really can't give a fk about inspiring my teammates. I just want to annihilate the enemy team, if my teammates get off from me going on a massacre then fine by me if not, that's fine too. I'd much prefer him to be reworked keeping his main identity as a carry/splitpusher rather than a teamfight tank/support.

Maybe somethin like a Kill Support - He is still bloodthirsty, and when he goes in to kill stuff, something makes his team stronger

Aatrox is supposed to engorge himself on conflict and bloodshed, and turn the tide of battle by empowering others with blood-lust. Currently, Aatrox fails to deliver on his theme. Aatrox should be a teamfighter/buffer rather than a skirmisher like he is now. In fact, when I think of Aatrox, I don't even think of a drain-tank like Vlad; I think of a demon that thrives on war.

Spoofghoul1 votes

maybe he should be a utility diving fighter or something like that

with an aura and other usefull stuff to help his team in fights

He could become a vampire.

Personally, I feel like his lore was trying to go for "Aatrox is so badass he makes the losing army ten times better just by fighting for them" and the whole "inspiring commander" thing is just the logical conclusion from the way it was delivered. I prioritize any and all "fight until the very end" effects and mechanics in his kit over any that directly affect his allies.
