So Riot decides to give them banshees with 8 second CD at max rank? GG Rito logic.

This Banshee will be more broken. 10 cdr and its a passive always up.

Well EoN was overbearing when assassins (the actual class it was meant for) built it, because you had no possible chance to peel them off yourselves with a fast skill when they jumped you to delete you from the game.

Not saying 8 seconds spellshields are great either. In fact I absolutely despise the idea. It will be a must-buy item.

That's exactly why it has even less AP than Zhonya to reduce their AP if you took it. Is it enough ? It might be the case but it should have a lower MR (just a bit.)

Lauchmelder1 votes

I'd prefer a higher cooldown on level 18.

Hell, I'd actually love to see an item that lets you chose which champions first ability gets blocked, similar to Kindreds marking just making the spellshield only pop on interaction with the marked target. You'd take the full blow from anyone else.

Muzét1 votes

I'm not really against it but, with the CDR being present everyday 8s cd seems ok specially since you have to not get hit afterwards. And usually when someone gets your shield popped out there is someone else who should try something to get you down (or at least hard cc you if tank) i'm just expecting a Malz revert with this item .

It could be nice specially since Riot got the tech to implement it (See Kindred's Passive ?) But dunno. Maybe it'll need some higher stats cause it'll only works on one person and it's just one spellshield. Feels like a reversed Old Poppy's Ult

That would be completeley and utterly broken.

Not if it's temporary. It's nothing more than a spellshield against one specific champion.

Yes even if its temporary, all making it temporary would so is lock out anyone during the entire window they woudl ever have to engage you to begin with. What you are asking for is essentially a mini version of the old Poppy ulti. One of the biggest the balancing factor of spellshields AS A WHOLE is how a teammate can pop it for an ally to still do their job.

This would through that out the window.

Abyssal had 60 AP too but people still bought it. People will definitely buy this one now.

Muzét1 votes

Abyssal still provided +10% Magic Damage.

AninLegions7771 votes

+10% damage isn't as appealing as a spell shield. With a spell shield, you can block damage ranging from 400 - 700 dmg but 10% damage gives like 50-100 dmg tops on one spell. So looking at the 2, the spell shield is way more appealing in terms of urgency.

Muzét1 votes

Never said so. I just said that people picked it because of the aura when they could use it efficiently. I never said that the spellshield wouldn't be useful ? What did I actually propose to reduce a bit the MR if it wasn't useful ? Reduced a bit the resistance but you blocked one spell. Isn't it logical ?

If you were attacking within its retardedly small Aura, which as a Mage isn't goinf to happen all that much. Only if you are a short ange battle mage or something or a Melee AP or Assassin was that aura good for anything.

Muzét1 votes

That's not what I meant. What I meant is that people still bought it cause of the aura on champions that could use it efficiently. Don't turn around my thought at your advantage.

Well why didnt you say so?

Don't turn around my thought at your advantage.

I apologize that i dont have the ability to read your thoughts. also, is English your first language?

Don't worry not everyone can't be kinetic. Pretty sure you already know the answer if you asked that♪

Yes because saying rocks are heavy totally implies you wanna use them to keep a tarp down. <_>

That is the point. ether is no context just as there wasn't in your post.

EoN was overbearing, yes but since they reduced the active duration, it's pretty balanced. But since the Spellshield for banshees is up until it blocks a spell, it's probably infinite times more broken than EoN.

Aptest1 votes

and it was equally overbearing against assassins because they had no way of making the spellshield go away without it consuming a good part of their oh so precious combo

MrHaZeYo1 votes

Least the mages can use it against one another.

AninLegions7772 votes

Inb4 4 mages per team.

AlienPrimate1 votes

That won't happen if they are all building an item that counters themselves. A mage item that counters mages isn't a problem. It both empowers and weakens mages. If everyone is building it then everyone is also weaker to their enemy anyways. The problem with edge of night is that it was one class totally overshadowing another class. The mage class can't overshadow the mage class so nothing changes in terms of balance.

AninLegions7771 votes

Lool who says it can't? Mages can now go top against champs that have cc to set up for easy ganks. Double mage bot will easily become a thing. Ziggs x Zyra/Brand/Velkoz. Mid will be LB, Syndra, Annie, etc. Jungle will be a full tank. Malz will be pick ban cos of his passive's synergy with Banshee's.

If everyone is building it then everyone is also weaker to their enemy anyways.

How are they weaker?

The mage class can't overshadow the mage class

Certain mages overshadow others within the mage class just like every other class.

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

this items weaken assassins too... btw

Yes because every AP being forced to use it is a good thing, amirite? There is a reason Grail was phased out of midlane.

mages, tanks, supports, everyone complained about EON giving shield on mobile burst characters banshee gives a shield each 8 seconds AT LEVEL 18 and if you didn't take damage

i can see banshee becoming a problem against fizz or things like that which is why i don't think it's a good idea of giving it 60 ap

i also think that 8 seconds is a bit too much, it should be reduced to 15 seconds like it used to be before the nerfs, but only at lvl 18

AninLegions7773 votes

8 seconds of not taking damage is pretty low considering the CD of EoN being 30 seconds. It wasn't just burst characters. They complained about ADCs using it too. Tbh lethality was the main issue at the time. But this new Banshee's is flat out broken. It's essentially a Malzahar passive without the damage red. against AAs.
