H2K vs FNC: Evidence for lowering death timers around and before 30m (Spoiler)
H2K lost one fight at 31 minutes, hard, and then lost everything from the mid outer turret to the nexus. That's 5 turrets, an inhib, and a nexus in the time it took the first dead champion on FNC to respawn. Even if death timers were changed between 30 and 55 minutes (not sure if they were even playing on 6.7, but it doesn't matter), the timers at 30 minutes and below are unchanged. That means values just above 30 minutes (like in this case) are close to their original values.
Hell, Krepo and Sjokz outright said it after the game. Paraphrased:
Sjokz: FNC wasn't supposed to win the game as it was going.
Krepo: H2K threw the game. FNC plays passive and waits for their opponents to make the mistakes. Sadly this meta allows it. When death timers kick in you can lose everything from tier 1 to nexus. I don't really like it.
Riot, you always say you want to make games less passive, and long death timers are directly responsible for passive, scared play. That includes death timers around and before the 30 minute mark, not just 30 to 55 minutes. It shouldn't even be possible to take seven structures in the duration of a respawn timer at 30 minutes.
