poke, harass

I like how you list this as two different things to make the list look longer

Orianna is as much of a support as lux.

Basically not a true support, they are supportive MID laners, not bot, because they need gold to function well (and levels).

Games that have a Lux support actually show her doing better than the adc in general.

Then again, she is the only truly dumb champion, imo.

How dare you.

Rarely see Lux lose in general and the first and only time that I played her I got upwards of 20 kills and a few deaths due to morgona's shield.

Keep in mind that I don't play ranked.

I can see where you're coming from.

I also don't like Ranked that much. .-.

It's not that she cant.. infact, mid-late game shes a good team fighting "support" its just, typically there are better options, more specifically ones with better early game. It's like, why would you want to play someone like Orianna support, when you can pretty much get the same benefit and more out of someone like Sona..

Though people play shit like Malz/MF support so quite frankly, i'm not going to be surprised if it did become meta lol.

Malz is mostly fire-and-forget.

Ori has to much more actively zone, has less damage without items unless she can spam consecutive autos, and has much greater mana issues, as well as not having Malz's passive, which still needs to be removed.

I'd be pretty surprised if Ori ever became a legit support. MF is like a less active, more effective Ori support, barring the ult, which still ends up more effective due to the sheer damage output.

she can... its just not ideal for her...

she is best mid

i had a friend who lulu, lux and ori support her way as main to gold

Who has told you this? I'm pretty sure I got to Mastery 5 doing it with it only questioned in passing at worst.

Ah the "list a champion's strengths" fallacy.

Unless Orianna and her ADC are stacked up, it is unlikely that she will be able to apply her own mobility to both champions, and pre-6, Ori has zero hard CC.

She, like Malphite, can theoretically go bot lane as a support, but her optimal position is in mid lane, against other control mages.

her ult is hard cc

Dryditch1 votes

pre-6, Ori has zero hard CC.

Ori has no real value she adds to the lane other than a single target shield, a chunk of damage, and a slight speed modification. There are better supports.

Ori is the last supporty mid that is still balanced for mid lane. The rest have all moved to bot lane.

She currently my 'hmm, probably a good option to grind out a weekly S rank chest as support' choice rather than 'hmm, possibly a good support' choice.

as a level 6 Orianna and ex support main, she should never be played support

Hrd2H1t1 votes

shes honestly pretty good support, but mid orianna and adc orianna both preform better

Requiemsfire1 votes

well literally ever champion can support but is there a reason to pick Orianna over any other mage support is the real question.

She lacks healing, her shield isn't particularly powerful, can't apply the use of her shield and her slow at the same time as her abilities rely on her ball's position, lacks any real hard CC outside her ultimate which is really short anyway making it hard to peel against mobile champions.

her shield isn't particularly powerful

Actually, her shield is rather powerful during the laning phase as it gives resistances if you keep the ball on your ADC, even once the shield expires, making them rather tanky-ish if they were going in for a trade.

Viable up to gold/plat ranks, in my opinion. (Note: this is exactly the same place where you start to see less Velkoz/Xerath/Lux Supports) Starts falling off after that. She lacks the control to maintain lane pressure and loses to shield-y supports like Janna.

Yea, you can totally support with her, but realizing her shortcomings will help.

If you go up against a Support/Jungler who KNOWS Ori pretty well, and is skilled, they will abuse the fact that you took Ori support and use that to swing the game for them.
