I was wondering if every champion would build one damage item what would it be? for AD champions I'd think it'd be black cleaver/triforce because those are typical bruiser items, but what gives ap champions the most damage out of one single item?

Shirvallah2 votesI think is the most well-rounded AP item we have by far — 20% CDR, 100 AP, 400 mana, restores 20% of maximum mana on kill/assist, applies grievous wounds to champions below 35% HP for 8 seconds.

can give a huge increase in dmg if the enemy has > 70 MR.

Isn't as good against ranged champs that dont make any mr for you.

don't scale alone. They aren't too hot alone on top of taking into consideration you're probably making tank. Level 18 when people have magic resis/health and you have more base damage, will all do more than alone.

Most ad champions don't benefit very much from the extra health, and only casters benefit much from the sheen proc on tri force. Also, the itemization for both doesn't give the early game stats you need. Phage is great, but 800 gold for 200 health/cdr isn't what you need early. The 1100 gold for atack speed on tri force hurts too. Blade gives the ad you need, the attack speed you need, and life steal for better laning. The passive helps a lot against tanks, and the active helps kiting while providing that bit of burst you might need. Blade is also over 400 gold cheaper than tri force, which is a first blood amount (and we all know how much that helps)
GoochFlap1 votesbut the only time i would build triforce or bork over black cleaver is when the enemy team is all squishy, in which case i would think triforce would be better because they would have low health, although the price is good justification and bork has lifesteal, ad, and attack speed over triforce
