So, is Riot getting dirty money from these botting account resalers or...? 'cos this has been an issue for a very long time and there has been literally zero effort taken to stop it. It seems as easy as Riot packing a sniffer program with League that goes 'These files are not my files, time to investigate' or 'Oh hey there is a program breaking into League's code right now to play the game for someone hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm'. Obviously that's heavily paraphrased but come on, four goddamn years strong and there's not a dent in their numbers. How do you expect anyone to not just laugh at being perma'd when they can spend 11.99 on amazon and get a level 30 account with enough BE to buy all their favorite champs and continue right on being toxic in mid-elo ranked?

All I gotta say is this is really starting to feel like what happened to Silk Road.

For anyone who never played, Silk Road was a Chinese class-and-faction MMO based along the famous silk road trading line hosting Chinese folklore as NPCs and a pretty decent game length for the low low price of free. Of course, with free comes the issue of 'Anyone can play' and this means that around about 2009 the game was 50% populated with low level magician females named "SelenaGomez1" through "SelenaGomez114" in every server, every region, just walking back and forth in giant crowds in unison killing EVERY mob in the area and looting its gold to sell to players in bundles of millions. Ruined the economy, made quests impossible for new players since there were never mobs to kill for them, and sank the game ultimately. All because the company knew the game was dying and wanted to suck as much money out of it as they could. Because they were getting kick-backs.

I really don't want that to happen to Riot. Why even have a leveling system and a limit on ranked if everyone can just pay 10-12 dollars and get a ranked-ready account on demand?

I hope not. I enjoy playing ARAM's a lot. There are a lot of bots in 3v3's
