Primary Role: Assassin, Secondary Role: Fighter (Riot devs welcome!)
All champions with the class role Assassin/ Fighter or vice versa has at some point been in the communities' crosshairs when comes to being "cancerous, hell to play against, and overpowered". Here are a few of them, they may look familiar:

Does anyone else notice the pattern here?
I think Riot needs to better define what an Assassin is and FOLLOW their definition when they design and balance said champions. Same can be said for the fighter role. The way it is right now, certain champions shown that have a capital Y in their name do as much as a TRUE marksman, but with way more utility and durability. As I understand it Assassins are meant for "deleting" squishy targets and targets at low health; ok. Fighters do a lot of damage over time and are meant to be an efficient method of damaging tanks. With these combos together the champion does massive damage to everything, with the fighters durability, and the assassins mobility and utility. At the end of the day these champions suck when it comes to fighting them.
I think Assassins need to be redefined with a damage window in mind created by an ability like for example
's ultimate, this causes the assassin to do more damage, but otherwise do average damage without it. Actually
works this way kind of, but his troll pole is what damns him to be hated. If we where to look at say
, we could have his Q or maybe his E create a window when he strikes a target, but it needs to be a small window of say 3 seconds tops where Yi executes his target.
As for fighters they should have damage that builds up over time but in short span isn't that much. The model I would use for this role is good old
. He is exactly what fighter should be, tough but with cumulative damage that becomes very powerful the longer he fights. I would go as far as to say cut the basic attack scaling with AD from fighters so they don't benefit as much by building like an ADC, but that is a shot in the dark.
The point of these changes is to first stop the creation of more of these "plague champions" that get so much hate and negativity from the community, and to also create stricter guidelines for new champion developers so they don't release a champion that has so many passives and abilities that they break the game. It will also bring clarity to the community so they can better understand what each champion is suppose to do and where their role is in lane and teamfights.
